Southampton spying compendium thread

Hopefully Boro beat the cheating fckrs.
Saints should be kicked out of the play offs imo.
They may argue there isn't a set rule to say they can't do this (i dont know if there is) but that would be a disgrace after Leeds did it and there wasn't one brought in?
The rules say that can be expelled from the football league entirely.
Post in thread 'Southampton charged for spying on Boro' Southampton charged for spying on Boro

Nice little sub plot to the game today with spy gate. Streaming back to someone watching it and apparently not the first time they have done this. Be interesting to see what punishment the EFL decides is appropriate in this instance but I feel Gibson will squeeze the life out of this

The more I read about this case, the more I think the EFL will kick Southampton out of the playoffs. Will get a lot worse for Southampton anarl if other clubs have spotted them doing similar things when they go through all the CCTV. It’s blatant cheating and EFL need to come down hard on them.

There's a very specific law that says they can't do it, potential punishments are in a post on page 1

Cheers for the info.
Good. They should definitely be expelled from the play offs as a minimum Imo.
I believe Boro have circulated the picture of the analyst from Southampton. Plenty other championship clubs are going to rightly livid if they've been at it for months. Arsenal will possibly be wondering how they, a club that's in the champions league final and likely to win the premier league was torn a new arsehole by the saints.

Apparently some journo from the Sun has been on sky saying their pulling together an expose.

Interesting that Tonda, like Will Still made his name in the game as an analyst.

Like you say that is the minimum punishment. If there's proof they've been doing this for months then the only correct punishment would be at least a one division demotion.

If they were deducted points they wouldn't make a play off place?

So he should and in a way it might be better for Southampton in the long run if Boro win.

It won't be possible at a club like Arsenal,
(Taken from BBC)
Arsenal's training ground entrance is manned by security and behind a barrier.

There are security staff around the training ground, with high fences and bushes shielding the pitches.

but at other clubs (like Middlesbrough) who don't have security etc and aren't in completely private grounds it'll be much easier

It could turn out that Southampton have prevented Arsenal doing the treble by cheating. 😳

Be interesting to know who at Southampton ordered the "spying", who receives the "intelligence" and how the details are used. Loads of management and staff could be in on it, it which case it could escalate into a massive scandal and attempts at a cover up. Shame on The Saints 😇

It’s such a blatant cheat that I’d be quite satisfied if they forfeited the game tbh. Think there’s a certain malice of forethought in this.
