Club up for sale?

Usually sceptical of these things but the fact that 1) They specifically detail a named investment bank and materials being circulated and 2) the club have gone to the effort to comment on and play down without denial what is pretty much a 2nd rate online article makes me think there might be something in this

If we weren’t for sale they’d have just came out and said it. Every club, in fact everything, is for sale at the right price.
Also got to consider to really get higher value, it'll take success or moving to a level thats probably quite unattainable without huge investment in infrastructure and some luck.

They'd bow out now for huge profit if they have the chance unfortunately I reckon.

Club were quick to bounce it back so that tells me there’s an element of truth in it.

Usually they can’t find the comms dept if it was sat on their arse cheek

What’s our man in Brisbane have to say?

All smart business men have a plan A and Plan B which they are developing in the background. ( Unlike Regis who does not seem to have any plan at all apart from " deep thinking") They dont wait for Plan A to fail before investigating plan B. It has to be already in place ready to go.

KLD will have analysed the data and knows if he is unable to attract a top tier coach for next season then RLB will take us down and he will lose 100's of millions of pounds.

He has a limited window of opportunity as value will start to plummet if RLB presides over the first ten games of next season.

There's a very out-of-the-blue report that the club has been offered to investors:

Already denied by the club, but have to wonder if there's anything behind it. I always wondered if KLD might sell shares after promotion tbh
Every football club is for sale 24/7. It's more investment but a percentage of shares for this price. Even you can buy shares in the club 365 days a week 24/7 if you want to.

How the fuck do the Colombians get pure gear all the way across the pacific man

With Reform now in charge I wouldn’t blame any player demanding the option to leave this Summer. The club will really struggle to attract the best players now….

Stick to Aussie rules

Moelis covers the entire spectrum from outright acquisitions to transactions involving minority stakes.

If the owners have retained their services to get an update on the valuation of the club, not because of a pending sale, but to boost the morale of key stakeholders including Xhaka that they have made the right move coming to Sunderland.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the new valuation of Sunderland puts us in the top tier of Europe given the great disparity between the Premier League and the other top leagues of Europe. This information may also be required to calculate the bonuses to RLB and Xhaka, etc.
Fee structure for Moelis. They’re considered as a high-end firm. So the good news is we are quality long gone are the days of scraping by in League One.

  • Structure: Fees are predominantly "success fees" paid upon deal closure, often incorporating a declining percentage as deal size increases).
  • Retainers: Monthly retainers can range from $50,000 to over $100,000, particularly for complex, long-term engagements.
  • Transaction Examples: Fees are tailored to the complexity; for example, one documented case showed a "$2.52 million sales transaction fee" for a specific mortgage servicing transaction.
  • Market Position: Moelis is considered a high-end advisory firm (top tier), placing its fees in the upper quartile compared to middle-market firms.

Everything will be for sale at a price , don’t kid yourselves.
An inconvenient and uncomfortable truth
Football ( players, managers, clubs themselves) are all about the money as are many things in life
As fans we get misty eyed thinking and talking about our club ( past present and future )
Like most owners ( both KLD and Sartori ) are from billionaire families and altruism is a trait in very low demand.
If we do get taken over lets hope it is an owner with deep pockets to match the fine words they all spout
