Losing the unbeaten home record

Since Liverpool ended that we’ve won 1 (Spurs), lost 3 (Fulham, Brighton & Forest) and not looked anywhere near as determined to perform as we were whilst unbeaten. With that in mind, what do you reckon we’ll get from Man U and Chelsea to see the season out?

I reckon Man U will win and we draw v Chelsea.
This thread has cheered me up not 😭

Not doubt it will be the same people saying we'd get thumped off the mags saying we'll lose to an ordinary Man Utd...
I was thinking about this Sunday night - are United that ordinary?

3rd in the League. 2nd in the form table neck and neck with the Arsenal. The scum and Leeds aside they've been excellent since Amorim was sacked. And even before then, they weren't a million miles away. AFCON and injuries had been a problem for them.

That first 45 down Old Trafford, I actually think Man United were probably the best team we played this season. We couldn't live with them for a spell.

There's a bit of resilience there too. Shocking goals to give away the other day after dominating Liverpool for 45 minutes. But they still came back and won the game.

A point against Man U would be lovely but I cannot see it.

The Forest result and joke of a decision against us at Wolves has knocked the stuffing out of the optimism I had.

The 3 remaining teams do concede goals, so they can be got at.

We just need to move the ball quicker, get some support close to Brobbey, and we'll be in with a chance against any of those 3.

We also need to stop leaking soft goals and a bit of luck going our way would help.

I'd be half tempted to drop Brobbey in one or two of them.

since diarra missed that chance to win it at the end against villa... not blaming him personally for everything that followed, but that was a proper 'sliding doors' moment.

if that goes in, i think we'd have seen out the rest of the game and been in a very strong position going into the forest game. pretty sure we'd have won one of the last two, meaning we'd have taken 6 or 7 points instead 1 point from the last 3 games.

its just how it goes, thankfully theres not a lot riding on it. if we were 5 points better off now (aye if my aunty had a cock etc...) we'd be joint 6th and it would be absolutely rocking this saturday.

i can see it being a wet fart of a game as man united are pretty much guaranteed 3rd now and will stroll through the game

I'd just love to see someone closer to him.

I don't actually think Regis plays him to score goals, it's just to win the long ball and hold up play, but then that's were it goes to shit a bit because no one's busting a gut to get beyond him or to link up. Talbi, Diarra, and Enzo are the obvious candidates, but it's like they're not being told to take the risk.

I know what you mean and agree to an extent - but I cannot agree with that last part.

I think Brobbey's a good player, but not a natural goalscorer. If he, he'd be at a top club.

He's always had the big clubs looking at him, and has a decent record. He's also proved to score goals when players have linked up with him. It's not like he misses a tonne of easy opportunities.

I really don't think the Fulham and Brighton performances were any worse than say the Brentford or Wolves performances where we win, just the small margins went against us rather than for us. Spurs was a bit like this, we were the better team, especially 2nd half, but won the game marginally.

Liverpool were genuinely class up here, the best side at the SoL this season imo. Forest aye fair enough was a combination of disastrous defending and ruthless finishing, no defending that one.

We'll be underdogs in our next 2 games, but I think if we make both tight games, with few chances, we can win either or both. Chelsea I fancy us to win.
