David Bedingham

He went past Diva century total yesterday

But by the end of this season I wouldn't be surprised if Beds passes Benks for centuries too, Lees should as well who is level. So then they will both only be behind Colly.

I'm assuming Colly has 25 FC centuries for us as he has 35 FC and 10 test ones. This only has him at 22 but this doesn't include the vast majority of the 90s.

Colly only had 3 centuries for Durham pre 2001 which was his breakthrough season. He was then 24 year old which perhaps suggests that it's premature to write off youngsters at only 21 or 22 which we do nowadays. Can't persist with them all,of course, but suggests we may have been with the likes of Bushnell and Killeen

Where is he now? Doesn't seem to be at Gloucestershire any more.

Other than say Raine, has there ever been a released player who got signed up by another county and made a success of it? Weighell had one season at Glamorgan when they won the RLC then was playing club cricket in Teesside the next year.

Bushnell at South North and also plays for Northumberland

True. He's in Leicestershire's seconds but seems to be pushing for the first team with some strong batting performances.
I think he was in and around 1s last season but got injured. I’d assume he might get plenty of opportunities this season with Rehan inevitably with England a bit more.

Leics have signed SLA Ajax Patel as their overseas which suggests that they don't value Trevaskis in the 4__ day game. That's Ajax, not Ashar, Patel.
It's Ajaz Patel NZ Teat spinner he played for us in our Division 2 title winning season for 3 games but also got injured.

We had Todd Murphy lined up but Aus pulled the plug.

Then we got Kunhemann in as injury replacement, Patel replaced him then we got Matt Parky in afterwards.

I confess to thinking that Bedders contract expiring might have been a blessing in disguise at the end of last season. A season to forget for him and us. Busting his finger or his toe early last season, then limited availability because of SA duties, often in the wrong formats to the ones we were playing and, of course, missing a CC match for a SA team dinner in Joburg. Despite being a brilliant player for us over several seasons, I thought he was becoming a bit of a liability, was reducing our overseas options and a part of me was hoping that we'd move on.

I'm very happy to admit to being completely wrong. He's looked very good this season and getting back to his imperious best
