Durham v Middlesex [A] C.C. 1/5/26

So what is our mindset here as clearly only one team have wanted to win this game.

16 overs to get 90 runs, I don't see that happening, however do we get as close to 430-450 as we can by 110 overs then declare and have a go at them to see if we can maybe chase 150 with 40-50 overs tomorrow?

Thoughts?
I suggested that yesterday, declare 70-80 behind to see if the Middlesex captain would set a total for a run chase.

Given the way they batted pitifully for 140 overs, I can't imagine they'll accept giving us a chase especially when we have Bedders and Gay in such good form. That leaves it up to us to try and bowl them out. I think get the 400 batting point, then bat like wankers on the understanding we have at least 15-18 overs at them tonight.

Robinson is completely shot to pieces. Hard to remember such a fall for a Durham player
Funnily enough I was having this conversation with an old couple at the Riverside yesterday. Like me they had been coming since 1992 and despite Roseberry, Morris and Bainbridge getting a mention we agreed nothing was comparable to Robinson's decline.

Agree with that. Raine and Potts will be watching the way that second new ball has been hooping and fancying their chances

Kasey Aldridge is proving to be a really good signing. That's the second time he's come in and steadied the ship after a cluster of quick wickets.
Need to try and smash a few quick runs here to get rid of the lead then have a bowl imo
15 off the over

Just play cricket -bat sensibly and get as big a lead as possible. Minimum 14pts from game. Guaranteed top of division.

Good bat, steady 4th seamer, top slip fielder. Should say shrewd signing, Marcus, but I'm not going to.

110 overs done. Middlesex 1 bowling point.

About 25 overs to go, over to Durham now to launch it and score quickly and put them in for an hour tonight
