What do we need to do to improve next season?

We definitely need a bit more depth, need to replace Gerty when he goes for a start. We’ve struggled with our forward play so hopefully a wide player or two and a striker if expected Wilson leaves we may need two. It depends on who goes too so it could be a busy summer even if we don’t intend it to be.
 
It’s going to be very difficult

Selling a big player early and using the cash well is essential.

Depends who they can unearth this time.

Really do think it’ll be a big summer

x2 Centre Backs
x1 Left Backs
x1 Defensive Midfielder
x2 Wingers
x2 Centre Forwards

I really can see that many players arriving and thats before any big hitters leave. Obv. not all of them are going to be signed to walk straight into the first team.

We need more pace, power and quality injecting into the side.

The aim from the club has got to be top 8/9.

A genuine threat in the final third also.

Without Xhaka this season we were relegation fodder.
It’s not the lads fault but to replace Xhaka in MF with Hume is bewildering. He’s a willing runner and happy to put his foot in but that’s it.
Dont get me wrong Xhaka is a hard act to follow for any team but RLB and team dont seem to have any plan B. Maybe Ghisolfi has a name or 2 in his black book but we need to get our skates on asap.
I think we need a better CB to play alongside Alderete. After his 3 match suspension that will be 9 games out this season, and 5 games last season. 11 games in 2 seasons due to hamstring nack.

There's a lot of crap to get rid of below the first team squad, ba, pembele, rusyn etc. Next sell Patterson, adingra and anyone else in the 1st team squad that won't threaten the 11. Possibly diarra as its unlikely he'll make it here but here's hoping he does. Freed wages and fees could mean enough for 1 or 2 signings. We're not close to fair play limitations so no one should go unless we want them to. Bring in 4 or 5 starters, you can then sign players to develop but progression is everything.

FFS we still have these?
 
Looking at recent games in particular I would say out wide is where we struggle alongside a box to box midfielder who can link up and go beyond Brobbey. Watching Brobbey it is very clear he is so strong, but he makes some really intelligent runs which we don’t spot. Then when we deliver into the box it is just in the air and nowhere near him. Do we have the players,,,well Diarra is supposed to be that midfielder I would have thought, but apart from Le fee we don’t have that quality out wide as of yet. Maybe Angulmcan step up once back and the lad Ta Bi introduced slowly but for now we really need those 3 positions sorted. Lb Reinaldo is class, but he is t getting any younger and Xhaka when not in the side we have no other options in there and have struggled badly.
 
I think we have been worked out now, RLB has pretty much said this himself so we need to move on from being completely reliant on Brobbey. Evey team we play knows exactly how we are going to set up and play and we seemingly havent adapted to this.
 
Wouldn't have minded a try with 2 number 10s behind Brobbey, and no wingers as let's face it we only had Talbi fit. More work for fullbacks creating a bit width, but that's why DMs drop in to cover .
 
A proven striker who knows where the back of the net is.
I thought we’d have had a goal fest yesterday, even with 10 men.
