Which absolute clownshoe came up with the idea of IDing away fans and banning them for passing tickets on, when there’s no other way to ‘legally’ get rid of your ticket? Do they expect us to lose out on any game we can’t attend anymore?

Combination of it being a PL thing that most clubs do now and the fact people kicked up a fuss about a ‘closed shop’. It’s not just something happening at SAFC. People will forever make up excuses about being unable to attend to build points up.

Ive got a ticket for Wolves and invited into hospitality this week. Anyone who is (un) fortunate enough to know me knows I go everywhere and dont points hoard. The games sold out and I cant pass the ticket on or cant sell back to club. Its ridiculous.

I agree that you should be able to return the ticket. Have you been in touch with ticket office about it?

Hi Becs,
A few things I would like to be raised.

-Will the club be changing the way away phases are done for ticket sales next season?
This year the numbers have been proven to be artificially high. For example, phase 1 for Leeds away was 55+ with and allocation of 2960. Then Aston Villa away was 70+ for phase 1 with an allocation of 3000 yet the time in-between these two games only an extra 3 points were available.

-Why has 15 points been decided as the number to separate phases? This seems a very high number (nearly a full season worth of loyalty points)? If the club are to keep the current system of phases for away tickets can they not have more phases with smaller drops as the vast majority of other Premier League clubs do?

- Why do the club show no transparency on the number of fans in each loyalty point bracket? I believe previously they have stated they can't release these number due to GDPR. If they say the same thing to this question I would like it to be pushed back that there is no GDPR being broken as no one can be identified by releasing this information. As an example, Middlesbrough and England both release exact numbers on their pints scheme (the reason for this request is many fans can then plan for phases knowing if their is risk or not if all the people in their group don't meet phase 1 criteria)

-AskSAFC has been proven by many on the forum to be not fit for purpose.
Certain times you will get a response fairly quickly other times you can wait weeks. The replies from the service are not always correct or need more explanation, when this happens wait times then become even longer.
It is still very difficult to actually phone the club to try and resolve issues, it appears to be lottery on whether someone will answer depending on what time or day you call.
If the club are insisting on going the "digital" route it would be prudent to have more people available to answer the phones or be available on live chat. This is especially the case during ticket sales release periods when ticketing issues are time sensitive due to tickets only being kept in your basket for a short period of time. It has been seen that fans have lost out on match tickets because of technical errors not being resolved in due time.

The club have ramped the price up (again) percentage wise above what the rest of the ground is, however, have now started to put players familes in amongst everyone. You've got women alone with multiple babies, stupidly pissed free loaders and people who are clearly not there for the football wandering backwards and forwards along the aisles constantly the past few games. Then the stewards backwards and forwards asking them if they are 'alright' - you couldn't make it up - if they asked them to take them to the toilet and wipe their arse they would it is that skin crawling. A bloke on the back row was going crackers last game. Fully see his point.

Is this a permanent thing and is this section destined for a change?

Not sure if it’s already been posted as a question but mine is why the club thought it acceptable to cancel 65 tickets whilst admitting most had done no wrong. Even underlining this by allowing them to try and buy again. Even if this was acceptable in their terms and conditions it’s certainly not moral (not even considering if it’s legal or not).

The only home games this season you needed purchase history from 24/25 were Mags and Leeds. Liverpool was originally then it changed to purchase history in the season.

So I don't understand how you were effectively locked out from home games this season?

You can also still get away tickets without having a ST or enough points as a ST you just run the risk of being tuned away with an ID check after having had the ticket passed on.

Losing people's purchaee history is a very valid point however. As it's caused issues for others.

It’s my loyalty points being reset that have been the main issue - on the occasions I’ve wanted to go to games I’ve no longer had enough points. I didn’t have too much bother before that when we were in league 1 and championship but now there’s more demand and I’m at the back of the queue because of this. I haven’t been eligible for any away games this season.

I’ve never taken tickets using other people’s ST and don’t really want to, that would be increasing the problem in my eyes.

Couldn’t attend when we were shit due to work etc but now we’re playing in the prem suddenly everyone’s free to attend.

Can we ask what is an acceptable form of ID for ticket checks at games?
I know they will say passports but would a picture of passport be accepted as I don't think it's ideal to be carrying a passport with you all day on away trips?
For under 18s the only possible form of ID they will have is passport or birth certificate, it's not reasonable at all to be expecting people to carry these to get into a game of footy.


And when it is confirmed can they actually put this somewhere in the website and not leave it buried in the meeting minutes (it could also go into the email template that Ashley sends out for all the away games now).

It's already settling down. Combo of -

- Premier league survival and not much riding on games / novelty wearing off
- introduction of ID checks and not being able to pass on tickets
- crap kick off times (Bournemouth, Leeds, villa, Everton)

It'll continue next season. I bet at least 50% of games go down to 10/20 points

Do you think after the annual cull of points the demand will still be there as it is now up until say Christmas?

I will give you the answer now, Farage might be next PM we would like to take the opportunity to influence him regards football regulator. It’s what organisations do … they lobby politicians. Get over it

On the face of it, no, but there are issues with tickets going unused every home game and not being listed for resale. That and the technical difficulties people have had with forwarding tickets to others too. I think we'll see measures in place to stop home tickets going unused for sure.

Thanks for taking on this role and trawling for feedback.

May I just add my points.

Like many in here is was disappointed with the treatment of the fans before the Visitors game. It was a shame the club could not have provided a warning to the branch before they took action. The fact that so many fans were punished was shocking.

From my perspective, I’m a SCH who lives in Hampshire. Over the last few seasons I’ve attended about 70% of the home games. I can’t do them all for cost and time, especially with so many games not at 1500 on a Sunday. I’m happy with this as I want to support my club. The thing that worries me is that the club started talking about minimum attendances last season. I do worry I’ll be affected if this does come in.

One of the main reasons of having a SC is also to help with away tickets. I would have no means of watching us without a SC. I’m happy to take the financial hit of my SC for this.

Win 1 You are not taking the piss stopping someone else seeing the match and you get some cost back.
Win 2 The club benefit financially after 3 games
Win 3. The ground is full, so atmosphere is not compromised and nor concession sales
Win 4. The non season ticket holder gets to see a match

@Becs perhaps it should be raised alongside questioning the BLF box that the club should remember its (hopefully not former) reputation as a family “caring” club. The premier league is cutthroat and extremely tightly regulated but the club should remember its roots and that decisions like this one would benefit from more transparency

Passport for an identity check at a football match ? , I’ve never heard something so daft.

I was told that they will accept your bank cards.

But the youngens don’t carry bank cards , only us old dinosaurs do apparently.

Fulham wasn’t sold out? That was one of the games I was trying to get a ticket for and wasn’t eligible apparently. The system is ridiculous.
