It will be a disaster if we get into the conference league. It's mediocre money, zero prestige, and a shed load of extra games that will hurt our league campaign.
Europa would be good, conference would be terrible for us.
Conference would be better than Europa for us, aye it's no money, but you could play fringe players all throughout the group stage.

Its all about revenue though. Other than extra home game income (crowds will be v.poor) theres not a lot in it for us

Let the owners worry about spreadsheets and revenue.
The Conference League could offer us some fantastic away days and it would be a positive chapter in the history of SAFC when European adventures have been so scarce.
I don’t support Sunderland to support the revenue like

Fair enough you clarified it here. Aye I'd love Europa don't get me wrong, although it's MUCH harder to win and we would probably have to take seriously from the start.

Sane goes for my most hated team - Nottingham Forest. They are still among the bottom 6 despite putting 5 goals past us. Incredible.

Cannot get my head around why people who would turn down the Conference League.
What a few days for Palace supporters out in Krakow seeing their team win a semi final. No matter what happens in the league thats the kind of trip they will remember forever.
We have been absolutely starved of anything like that.

This. Palace fans have had some amazing away trips in the Conf this season. France, Cyprus, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Italy, and the distinct possibility of a final and trophy to play for.

Aye, they look well set for a trip to Leipzig for the final and a few days on the German Beer.
If I'm coming across as jealous its because I am.
However, they’re 13th in the league at the minute & they finished 12th last year. It’s clearly effected their league performance & I for one don’t want to travel around Europe drinking beer, watching football if it’ll mean we don’t finish as high in the league next year.
Historically the end of the season throws up some mad results.
The old cliches come out, relegated teams have no pressure on them, mid table sides are in the beach etc; plus you've got to stay injury free if you fancy going to the world cup.
Every team from Brighton to Palace can look at the table and know that Europe is within their grasp.
Comes down to player attitude for me. Which teams are going to continue to turn up, and which ones are going to coast in.

They’re 3 points behind us with a game in hand and a better GD. Some are saying we’ve still got a chance of Europe this season so by that measure so must Palace on top of having the European trips!
