Dave Watson comments in Echo, Sunlund former youth team keeper

James Copley wrote it apparently-normally he’s good -however I think most went for pint and I was surprised how full it was after half time when they came back
The fans tried to get the team going and there was a short period we were in the front foot (I kna ) but then another goal killed àny slight momentum.
Fans stuck with the side all things considered but that doesn’t make headlines the same way as this does .

If you have paid good money to watch your team play a COMPETITIVE game of footy and are being mercilessly flogged 4 nowt before half time you have every right to vote with your feet
good support

tazke it you didnt last many games last time in the prem

There were far more stayed than left and the support in the second half was outstanding. I left after the fifth goal as that one was a final kick in the nuts, but it is well within each individual’s rights to leave when they want to.

Show me one PL ground when this wouldn’t happen in any case? West Ham fans streamed out when they went 2-0 down to Leeds in the cup and thousands missed the comeback and extra time. That was 2-0 in the second half, not 4-0 before half time!!

47000 in the stadium on a Friday night tv match( after 4 years in the third tier not so long back )
That’s a better headline in my humble
“ how Sunderland fans stuck with their team ànd came back from the brink !”
