Summer transfer window

Régis Le Bris is preparing a highly structured transfer window for Sunderland: regular meetings with scouts, targets identified by league, and coordinated work with Florent Ghisolfi for months. Unlike last summer, the club has planned ahead: priority is given to targeted profiles, fewer players but high-impact signings, with the ability to adapt to departures… and a potential European qualification.

Well haway then somebody
Régis Le Bris is preparing a transfer window that's already very structured at Sunderland: regular meetings with scouts, targets identified by league, and coordinated work with Florent Ghisolfi for months.Unlike last summer, the club has anticipated: priority to targeted profiles, low volume but recruits with high impact, with the ability to adapt based on departures… and a potential European qualification

My French is a bit rusty but it's something like...

It’s French for rallying call after an embarrassing home defeat

To replace Ballard?
Or is this the continuing blaming of Alderete?
To build a solid squad and make positions competitive all over the pitch.
Would be an excellent addition, he’s really good.

It’s a squad game. We’d be objectively stronger adding him to our squad.
Best I’ve seen Brobbey handled all season, got the better of him nearly every time.

Quite excited for this window now. The CEO stated we should have revenue of around 200m which is more than I thought. Once you deduct wages and carried-over/amortised transfer fees then I think we still have 60/70m to spend on transfers and wages under SCR. That is before thinking about sales this summer.

I can see us spending big on a RW and maybe another forward. I think squad depth will be important at CDM, LB and LCB too. It won't be peanuts we spend on those positions either since we know how badly we suffered without Xhaka for example so will need quality alternatives. Those alternatives could also be signed with a view to being the long term replacements for the likes of Xhaka and Reinildo so I'd expect them to have a good number of years ahead of them.

As a complete guess I'm going to say one or two signed for 20/30m plus three or four others signed for 5-10m.

We may get a replacement for Geertruida if we don't sign him permanently too. We'd also need to replace any first team departures but don't expect to lose more than one or two at most and any fee we got for the likes of Roefs would more than cover the cost of replacement.

So we didn't do any planning ahead before last summer, I think that may be slightly wrong soemhow

Probably poor translation - our position is assured this time around whereas last season there was the chance we wouldn't go through the playoffs

Sounds like my da when he’s buying a new tv or something. All the options laid out on a spreadsheet, weeks of discussions, coupon hunting, haggling etc. He’d be a mint director of football.
