To the OP.. anything Methven does will be purely for his financial benefit, irrespective of whether it causes damage at your club. Think sub Poundland Boris Johnson where Methven's abilities and morals are.

I think if it had not been for Methevin we’d have a) sank worse than we actually did, recognising relegation to league one happened under Short and b) we wouldn’t be as strong now if it weren’t for him.

In 2005 I was arguing with SMBers about Sir Bob Murrays legacy. I’m sure time won’t heal as much as it did a local businessman who did so much for the city and the football club for so long as Sir Bob did, but regardless I would expect a softening of attitudes in time.

I know this won’t go down well here but one of the few good things they did here was keep us as a cat 1 academy. If they hadn’t we would almost 100% have lost the like of Rigg, Watson, Young. Even if it sounds like it was skin of teeth stuff at times

Just watch season 2 of Sunderland Til I Die on Netflix and you'll see what a shambles it was. Him and his mate didn't have a clue what they were doing, they bought us and clearly thought they could fund it for a year get straight back up and sell for a profit when we lost that play off final they had no back up plan. He ended up insulting our own fans in a fan group meeting when trying to defend all the dodgy business they'd be doing to buy and fund the club - he shouldn't be near a football club at all.

Faded away quietly after he left in an attempt to not give the game away to obviously then turtley disappeared around the time he got involved at Charlton.
Volunteered to meet a few ambers in west London iirc but always pulled out. Obviously thought SAFC fans were stupid.

Remember that time that both us and Charlton got promoted last season, and salmon pants put out a tweet claiming credit for both despite not having been involved at either club for time, whilst also dropping a casual flex about being on the Caribbean?

Socially smooth, like most Etonians. Not a bad person to have a drink with, and does know his football. Would I trust him as far as I could throw him? Absolutely not.
