What to do with Mayenda?

Overrated on here due to having a good chant. Will be away in the summer. Disappointing though as looked like he might kick on when he scored against West Ham first game of the season.

I'd be looking to get him a decent loan in a top 5 league this summer. Maybe a bundesliga or ligue 1 team. If he can go there and grab himself 15 goals he will come back either ready to play a part or be sold for a tidy profit

Overrated because he has a decent chant, Christ

He's still young, either a loan or remain third choice next season and re-evaluate the following summer.

Played well when just behind Isidor last season, sort of where I think Diarra is meant to be just now, but can’t see him playing there as le fee moves there if Diarra is dropped. Could play right instead if Rigg but he’s not as effective there.
Shouldn’t be mentioned in the same breath as Rigg

I really rate the lad, but he’s not really getting much of a sniff at the moment (<800 league minutes all season, 1 minute in the last 4 games). Needs a run of games if he’s going to kick on

Of course, Wilson may be away, but they will surely replace him if so.

Loan time?
He would definitely benefit from a loan, but I’m surprised we don’t experiment with him more on the right wing when the squad was thin. I thought he was a more obvious choice than Rigg who had previously struggled out there.

I’m pleased to see Rigg has improved in that position recently though, but that means for Mayenda that he’s even further down the pecking order, and so I think a loan to a team challenging for the playoffs next season would be the obvious answer.

Id have him on the right over Rigg. Hes not getting in ahead of Brobbey and Isidor seems to be the 2nd choice.

Love the lad and he has heaps of potential but i dont see him working here unless he goes on loan and tears it up.

Not going to get any playing time so may aswell sell him, he's just treading water here and can't be particularly happy with the situation. He certainly would not do any worse than Rigg on the wing indeed has done better, but he also doesn't want to defend gets back and does nothing.
If can't get a decent price for him loan him out to try and increase his value.

It’s strange because he started at Bournemouth (and Leeds I think?) but then has found himself down the pecking order again.

He's probably never going to be a starter at our current level. We could do worse than getting on the pitch late on because he does have pace to trouble tiring defenders. Possibly alongside Wilson.

Definitely needs regular games. A loan in the championship would be beneficial then make a decision next summer based on how he does.

110% if we are behind in the last 10-15 mins we should be hoying both him and Isidor on.

Hes been underused imo.
That’s RLB for you. Look at the strange treatment of Talbi
I dont think RLB makes good use of the squad. Granted you can argue the back ups just arent good enough but some rotation through the season will have done us good.

Player's development isn't always linear...I remember people calling him shit in the championship when he missed a few chances.

He definitely needs minutes though, so I trust the manager and coaching staff to make the right decision in the summer. If they don't believe he is ready or good enough still then it will be either a loan or sold.

Get rid and upgrade. Nothing against the lad in the slightest, but he's one of the key ones IMO that we need to peddle if we're to improve the squad.

It'll depend on the lad himself. With Wilson probably off, we need 2 strikers who are going to be happy to come in and start from the bench. That's not going to be an easy sell with Regis not exactly known for regularly using his squad to rotate, and rarely using subs until 70+ minutes. Lads from the bench don't really get much time.

Mayenda will probably be wanting away, and it's probably the right choice for him and where he's at currently in his career.
