In the Games when we’ve NEEDED it more….

Fair enough. If it impacts on our chances of staying up next season , history suggests it definitely will . Look at West Ham and forest , teams who had a more established PL presence than we have. I’ll pass on it Thankyou.
Forest is down to a lunatic owner who's had 4 managers this season. There's a chance they might be in next years Champions League.
If we were in their position this time next season I'd be delighted

When West Ham were in the conference their league position went from 7th to 14th. The following year when they were in the Europa they went from 14th to 9th. They didn't suffer.

Agreed generally - great season. Friday shouldn’t over shadow that.

That being said it shouldn’t be dismissed - it was a once in a generation defeat. Possibly a few generations in fact. We’ve all seen bad things in recent decades but weirdly none as bad as that!!! Outstanding in our history.

4 down after 35 minutes at home….. shouldn’t just be brushed over imho
I felt like I was watching Bolton 6-0 thrashing us on Friday hopefully we will wake up from that nightmare and bounce back at Wolves

Wolves v Spurs was pathetic. Make no mistake Wolves are crap. Better be no excuses after the game if we lose. We should thrash them. But we won't.

The loss the other night was still one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to endure. It was still a horrible performance by everyone. But now the dust has settled I can think about it differently. And frankly looking at the table I’m thinking “What has changed?”. Nothing has!

They could have scored 500 goals let alone 5 and they still would have only earned 3 points. You don’t get extra for scoring loads. That’s the first thing they neglected to consider on the way home whilst they were busy chanting and enjoying themselves.

The second thing is they are still only 3 points ahead of 4th bottom West Ham United. They haven’t exactly left West Ham and Spurs in the dust.

The third thing they overlooked is the fact They did not exactly knock out of the picture for Europe. We are still gonna finish in the top 10 I think. Nor are we relegated if you went on the hysteria they created at FT. Anyone would think they had won the league title the way they went on!! Sad people!

Scoring 5 goals was for me a total waste of time and energy. Why score loads of goals when you get the same if you only won 1-0? And now they have a huge game they should have conserved energy for.

We still end up with the better deal despite them scoring 5 goals against us.
That match doesn't even make the Top 50 worst Sunderland moments/matches Sunderland in my lifetime. I'm 32.

Far rather endure an abysmal 5-0 thrashing safe in the mid-table Premier League at the hands of a decent in-form team desperate to survive than have to relive Chris Maguire netting a hat-trick at the SOL and giving it the biggun. Indefensible night, but those happen.

We’ve always got it over line.

Staying up with games to spare,
6 derby points,
Our job is done and BRILLIANT to know we can do that extra % WHEN needed 💪

Forest had more to play for so, just like us, turned on that extra fighting % when desperately needed. If had been the position reversed, you’d have seen a different mindset from us. Luckily, it was Forest desperately fighting, not us 👍

Relax and enjoy rest of our absolutely tremendous season 👏👏👏

Never fun to lose 5-0 at home, but over the two fixtures, we each got 3 points, which is far better than two draws at a point apiece.

Such ambition.

Dramatic. Not even our top 5 worst results in the last 5 years.
This might only be out only chance to qualify for Europe for years. I hope we take it.
Nonsense. Focus on the Prem and in time Euros will sort itself out eventually. It's not exactly difficult to qualify these days.

I honestly do not get the hard-on some of our supporters have for tin pot Europe.

I disagree, many dreaded promotion as we weren't ready. Grab everything that is available imo. This might be out best season and best chance of Europe fir the next 20 years .

I don't care, and you're missing the point. I'm saying we should focus on the league.

Bang on. The same Fannys saying Europe is too soon are the ones saying we needed an extra season in the championship

Some assume we'll finish higher in the PL next season than this season.
Football isn't like that, you don't get to choose.
Next season I'd love to be in the same situation as Forest are now.

Aye. When we stick to our Plan A with a solid defensive structure we're always difficult to beat. It's effective. When we take the handbrake off and try to be more expansive then the wheels come off. I remember early on up at Old Trafford when I think we thought they might be there for the taking - and we got done.
We were down to ten men, weren't we?
