Grealish

Doesn't seem to be growing up.

Dunno if it's the company he keeps, or it's just down to him not having the mental capacity to calm the drinking down. He doesn't seem capable of just having a steady drink.

He's not exactly a kid anymore, so why he gets in these states will be a worry to any future clubs who are/we're looking at him.
Or he can keep it sensible (or even cut it out completely) cos for 99% of the year you don't see any posts like this. You see one a year or something where he's had a bit much and his season is over. You just don't hear about it when he's keeping it sensible for the majority of the time because no one wants to hear about that, they want "scandal".

I think he's said in the past he likes to live a bit too , I can understand that. For some people it's about the right balance, this could just be what the right balance is for him

I don't know the bloke, and it's possible that he isn't a frequent drinker but is cursed to end up on the internet on the few occasions he goes too far.

But it's hard to make the case that this is anything like 'balance' when he's frequently pictured incapacitated through drink, and lost his driving licence in 2020 after crashing into parked cars while stinking of booze.

I like Grealish, a great player and seems like a great bloke - hope he has people around him who are keeping an eye on things.

For some people getting drunk once a month or so is balance . That's pretty much what he's alluded to.

Hopefully that's the case. There are too many examples of players heading into dark places when they retire - not sure if Grealish is a natural for punditry or management so it could be a tricky adjustment.

This is key when you are young and I would imagine more so if in public spotlight-if you don’t then trouble can come.
Social media if you step out of line people will want a pop no doubt .

You can't get in that clip every month or so as a professional athlete like, takes a week or so to 100% recover from a session where you're blackout/a kip from the drink.

Talent-wise he's a £100m player. But you never see the top players pictured like this (bar Rooney but look at the state of him now and the decline in his 30s). It makes me laugh when people blame Pep for coaching the flair out of him. Is discipline and contributing to the team cause not more desirable than someone who just wants to pop up anywhere and do what they want?

Thing is, if anyone would ask you to describe him, it would be something along the lines of "A very talented footballer, who never really reached his potential due to his reputation of being a bit of a party boy".

You say it's only once a year, but I think it's pretty obvious that there's more to it than that when city paid 100m for him and pretty much got shot of him at the first opportunity.

I just think he should be wiser than all this shite now. It's probably lost him big sponsorship deals, and his City career is over when it's clear he is as talented as most the lads there and should have kicked on and won more and better a big part of the England set up.

It's his life of course.

I don't see it that his partying has restricted him in any way, I think the move to City did. He was never a Pep player, he's a maverick who needs the freedom to do things off the cuff and Pep has only ever allowed Messi to be like that (for obvious reasons). Despite that he still managed to play a lot for them - I don't think they got rid at the earliest opportunity at all, he was there for 4 seasons. He played 50 or so games in his second season, and he was a big part of that league winning side - it was only last year where he was very rarely involved.

We'll have to agree to disagree on the lad.

Saw he visited the GB special olympics football squad the other day and according to this his rehab is doing well
Personally I find the shock & outrage of a 30 year old bloke on the lash on holiday pretty pathetic
A bit of a lad when single, unlike the pious crowd outraged on the RTG message board, I have absolutely no problem with him
