Feel somewhat vindicated by what I said last night; The pitch has been good for batting throughout when the sun has shone. When it has been overcast has been when the batsmen have had the most difficulty. It’s clearly a ‘new ball pitch’ given that each team has lost wickets early but enjoyed lower order partnerships once the ball has got older.
If the rain doesn’t help us tomorrow, we’ll need to break the habit of a lifetime and dig in early doors. It’s no good going out all guns blazing against their new ball bowlers. Focus on survival in the first session, hell I’d bite your hand off now for 40-0 from 30 overs

. Get their lads into their second/third spells and we can make hay in the afternoon when they start to tire and the ball has gone soft.
We can’t win the game tomorrow before lunch, but we can sure as hell lose it.
