He was a panic buy/6th choice, who has been allowed to go backwards during his time there due to poor coaching, trying to shoe horn him into a system that totally doesn't suit him as well as the enormous price tag and expectations they have about strikers.

They massively gambled, while paying hugely over the odds, that he’d hit the ground running and take straight to the PL.

And at FIRST it looked like they'd lucked out again and signed a potentially great forward. The worst possible thing that could have happened was him scoring our winner.

Ever since then it's looked like Beheaddie doesn't trust him or can't find a place for him the way he sets up. There's obviously something big going on behind close doors and he's not the only one.

Good question. Imho probably IF the team plays to his strengths. And currently only a mid-table level, a couple of years ago he was playing Bundesliga.2

He's not and never will be a #9. He also seems to struggle with the pace and physicality of the PL but it's only his 1st season which hasn't been exactly carefree.

Luke Edwards seemingly needs to wind his neck in a bit. After downplaying the racist abuse of Gerty in the derby, he's now essentially bullying our Nick into leaving the mags, and is blaming everything about their murderous season on him. Seems a bit too confident for a bald, cock-eyed, short arse for my liking.
 
He is a rubbish footballer.

In this modern era of football I think the word “carthorse” is used way too often, but in this lads context it’s absolutely appropriate. If he’s lucky he’ll become a journeyman in Germany, but if he stays in England it’s a case of clubs like Newcastle, Wolves, West Brom until he’s 29 and then Burton or Notts County after.

I was impressed with his footwork at the beginning of the season. Seemed to have a great touch especially for a tall lad. Good with his head as well as we've all seen.

Got to be a player in there.

Why the Clerb and Howe and whoever else use Edwards as a leak outlet/ unofficial mouthpiece is beyond me like

Think he's a good player but Howe doesnt have a clue how to set his team up to get the best out of him. He's trying to be too clever playing him in midfield. Its amazing how much support Howe has in the media, he hardly gets any criticism, that league cup win is almost as comparable to the fairy tale of Leicester winning the Premier League in the eyes of the local journos, the only difference being Newcastle spent a gazillion pounds.

Lose their next 2 games and they are right in the relegation conversation.
