Be careful what you wish for

I’ve seen some doghsit over the years and I’ve been comfortable calling out that shite relentlessly (including the current chairmen when I didn’t think he had the best intentions) but fuck me, booing them after one shocking performance at home this season was nothing short of disgraceful. I don’t align myself to any of you fuckers who did that. Wankers.
I think it was more out of frustration and disappointment of not taking advantage of a potential European spot that caused the boos as much as anything else.

Just a terrible performance last night. More wider problem that our defending in the second half of the season hasn’t been as good as in the first half and certain games we’ve shipped a fair few (11 from West Ham and Villa away and Forest at home). Let’s see if we can get a couple of wins from the final four at least.

It’s as if we’ve got a really young squad and we have dropped off the 2nd half of the season.

If we had won last night or Villa last Sunday in injury time we would have won 3 out of last 4 btw.

Yeah we’ve only just come off the back of two successive wins. Conceding 9 in two games isn’t good mind. Hopefully there’s a reset and we can win at Wolves 🔴⚪

Problem with booing is it makes it sound like everyone’s doing it.

500 people bellowing can probably make themselves heard I reckon.

Realistically half time was a “mixed reception” and tbf our players should be able to cope with that and be experienced to judge what’s going on. Presumably it’s the worst home defeat for a lot of those players.

Proper booing was like Burton Albion in 2018 or Bolton in 2022.

Its been a fanatastic performance by us this season to be where we are. Last year when we finished 4th we were nearer to 17th place in points than we were to the top two. Nobody gave us a prayer. We were there to make up the numbers and the only issue really was whether we could be vaguely competitive. Could we be as good as Ipswich the season before maybe? We spent good money but that in itself did no more than give us a glimmer. The squads of Burnley and Leeds had far stronger starting positions having been in the premier league the season before their promotion and still spending 100mill on top of that.

We decided on a system of play and we bought players perfect for that system of play. Defensive, attritional, low block, minimise space, limit chances to the opposition. But its never good enough for some. The quality of the football is 'shite' we need to play more progressive football and even the managers position being questioned by some. We have seen in the last 2 games why we don't play more progressive football with our current players - they aren't good enough and weren't bought with it in mind. Next season i dont want us making significant changes to what we have done this season. Evolution not revolution. Buying players to imporve the quality but keep broadly the same system and we can improve even more.
It’s a good post. I wish I could say I was shocked that the players were booed off at half time after:

Pissing survival with 5 games to spare
Doing the double over Newcastle

And we boo them off for a 45 minutes that went tits up in a game that don’t really have any consequence. A dreadful look not least from the players point of view, but to be fair it’s the reality of SAFC. Early leavers and hyper critical when we lose. That is our ID.

You wear aggressive brown jumbo chords and overly tight clicked nylon T shirt with a close up of a roaring lion’s face emblazoned on the front.

There's not a game this season where we've picked up points that I've not enjoyed it like. Our battling performances please me more than fancy football.

The same defensive structure with slightly better/quicker counter attacking moves next season will do me just fine.

We’ve got the beginnings of a very good squad, and a very good first team. There’s so obvious areas of weakness, but hopefully we can address them in the summer window and build on what we’ve done this season.

Absolutely this. f***ing idiots.

No! 4 nil down at home after 45 you're getting booed whatever team you are!

It was the heaviest home defeat in 68 years.

I think we were entitled to be upset.

Coventry Stoke and Blackburn have put 5 past us in recent seasons. They were shit sides in a lower division.Forest are in the Premier and will likely win a European trophy. This defeat in no way resembles those poor performances. In the second half I consider we could have scared the pants off them I’d the disallowed goal had stood.

Agreed the booing was bad and totally unnecessary but in reality how many were doing it? Always going to get a few fools, you would get that anywhere.
