If we are to take the positives from tonight

One thing au dont take as a positive and which is spouted as nauseam, oh look where we were 12 months ago, etc etc
Verging on defeatist. Look forward not back

Horrible game, largely due to a 10-minute collapse. The positive is that we were four points out of 6th before the game and we're still four points out of 6th. Of the ten teams clumped between 6th and 14th, we are third in form over the past six games despite the loss. Still lots of opportunity to move up the table over the next four games and very good chance that we finish top half (and maybe Europe even still).

Sheepfolds, the town and bars in town were bouncing and great atmospheres. The walk over the bridge and new signage looked tremendous. Atmosphere in the ground on entering and for the first 15 minutes were brilliant and then again in second half. It was a grim match and performance and there should be no shame in calling it what it was but overall I’m feeling positive about our club and city.

It wasn’t against Newcastle

Exactly how i saw it. Sheepfolds was packed with a huge queue to get in. People seemed to arrive earlier than normal and the place seemed to be buzzing. The atmosphere was good but unfortunately Sunderland didn’t play to the occasion. Forest just wanted it more, i guess they were still fighting for their safety from relegation. We looked like we had nothing to play for a
Even though Europe was there for the taking.

It flushed out the same old posters that can’t bare any criticism of the club and have to point to how far we’ve come. Everyone is delighted with how far we’ve come but it’s also possible to highlight how shit it was on Friday.
