Made in Sunderland tifo tonight

Henderson
Pickford
Carter
Houghton
Monty
Boxer?
Scott
Rigg
Rowell

Raich Carter and Jill Scott on the same celebratory banner….. it’s a funny old world
I’d say it’s the opposite tbh, most think she’s great, I personally don’t or haven’t watched anything she’s on, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to have just had footballers who represented Sunderland men’s team throughout history on flag

I think Jill is great human being and brilliant for woman’s football and I like her a lot.
But putting her in the same context as some of these Sunderland greats is just PC gone mad

The theme isn't about football, it's about people from and places in Sunderland

So the academy where he was literally made into a premier league footballer isnt Sunderland eh

The banner wasn't about the football club though, it was about people from Sunderland and places around it - as someone said above.

Rigg's a South Tyneside lad.

The clues in the words made in sunderland its not rocket science. It doesnt mean his ma and da had to have conceived him within the boundaries to get a place on the f***ing banner
Yeah but been promoting landmarks all week aswell
Why you saying yeah for when theres a frigging boxer on there ! Are you really AI after all

I suppose the caveat with Rigg is he joined SAFC while still at primary school so arguably he was 'Made in Sunderland'. Sunderland academy to be precise.

I did the illustrations for the surfer - a proud moment to see it in the stand, even if it did get a bit ripped! Cheers to the fans who pulled it back together - just a shame about what happened on pitch!
i thought it looked class as did everyone sitting around us in the east stand. shame about the rip but like you say, those who were under it did a grand job of making it look great.

I mean it’s going for those born in or close to Sunderland hence the made in which is a bit of a stretch as lord rowell was born in seaham weren’t he?.

That’s a nuance I didn’t get, but thanks for the heads up… makes more sense….
Mind Micky Gray should have been on there in terms of service to Sunderland and played for England and actually born in Sunderland
