Luke O'Nien

Agree. Get ballard and Alderete in there.

Aye. Needs dropping if we’re serious about clean sheets.

Aye. With 09 at the back we’ll be shipping 4 or 5 goals a match.

Aye. He’s a 🤡.

Aye. Let’s get the “proper” lads on.
We conceded 4 last week and we've done very well this season without him playing the majority of games. Bungalow brains

If he came on ay 89 mins he would be savaged by some on here.
It’s insane how grown men can’t see past the nice guy Mr Sunderland crack. Anyone with a footballing brain knows he shouldn’t be anywhere near the match day squad. He’s been apart of getting back to where need to be but there’s zero room for sentiment. Sentiment won’t get us challenging for Europe & sentiment won’t keep us in the premier league. He has to go

Maybe but if we stand back and relect we all must have seen that, regardless of tonight's drubbing, Luke O'Nien is not a Premier League level player. Next year we need to improve again and that means saying thanks and goodbye to Luke. He's been brilliant and it's great that he's had some games in the Prem but it's time to move on.

Despite their position Forest are on good form. They won their last game 4-1. They are in teh semi final of a European competition. It was a bad defeat and a poor performance but that doesn't make O'Nien any more of a Premier League player. He's just not that level.

I largely agree with this assessment of Luke as a player but not the view that we need to say goodbye. Given his status as a representative of the club, his leadership role and his versatility I'd say having him in that emergency back up spot where we may need to call on him 2-3 times a season is fine. We can't pay fees and salaries for 4 full backs and 4 centre backs that are all at that elite level. Someone like Luke has a place, it's just more prominent at the training ground than on the pitch.

Yes, I think you are probably correct
