Think I've only seen two examples in the Premier League where the ref has been called over and still stuck with their original decision.Doesn't matter what he looks at ,
He's overturning it when he's walking over to the screen
Keeper was already committed and caught short, no difference whatsoever to the outcome but he knocked the keeper after all of that, so it is a foul. But I'd argue there were lots missed.Christ there are some red-HOT takes in this thread. It was a foul, he impeded the keepers ability to contest for the ball.
No conspiracy, it just wasn’t our night tonight.
Agreed. They need to scrap this “clear and obvious error” bollocks. And make it a tool the ref can use when they need it.Regardless of whether people thought it was a foul or not, it really shouldn't be taking the best part of 5 minutes for them to actually come to a decision. The introduction of VAR has been one of the worst things to have ever happened to the sport.
Nordi got the ball and his momentum carried him forward.Would you be happy if VAR allowed a goal where Roefs had his jumping leg taken out from under him, stopping him from being able to dive?
The slide that stopped their keeper from putting his jumping foot down wasn’t ‘going for the ball’, it was the follow through after challenging, and it impeded the keeper
How come it took 5 minutes and 15 seconds to decide that then?
Aye but in doing so he took the keepers right foot away which left him unable to jump properly for the Ballard headerNordi got the ball and his momentum carried him forward.
Never a foul in a million years. He won the ball ffs.
Zero in the action. But some special super secret rule that's not written down that only refs know. Can anyone tell me the difference in Diarra going shoulder to shoulder with Anderson and giving away a free kick on the edge of the box and then Anderson’s barge in the back of Xhaka in their box?
So what, that’s just normal contact, Nordi didn’t do that deliberately it was just his momentum.Aye but in doing so he took the keepers right foot away which left him unable to jump properly for the Ballard header
There was 2 checks in that time to be fair
Ok then the alderete penalty, forest player got a touch on the ball, then stands on alderete’s footAye but in doing so he took the keepers right foot away which left him unable to jump properly for the Ballard header
This is the point for me. The VAR check was for offside which it wasn’t. So they then go looking for another reason to disallow it. That’s not right in my view.
Wouldn’t have made any difference like.
It’s not normal contact if it stops the keeper from being able to dive/jumpSo what, that’s just normal contact, Nordi didn’t do that deliberately it was just his momentum.
If you win the ball, contact is very common but legal. The ref said it was tripping, what was Nordi meant to do, he couldn’t stop, so should he have not tried to get the ball???
I thought the momentum was with us, whilst it was unlikely we would have got anything out of the game, we would have stood a better chance had that goal been given.Who gives a fuck even if it was given it would’ve been 5-1, the least of our worries
