Get a grip

Incorrect; we should win every game. When we've achieved our objectives with games to go before a world cup summer players should beast them selves double if they truly love their employers

I hate them as well but I would get Europe and lose to them twice than do the double and not get Europe. A lot of our fanbase seemingly only care about beating them which is sad as fuck imo
Aye maybes but ask yourself are we ready for Europe. So I would prefer to beat them twice and finish above them

People say Europe is too soon but this season may have been the best chance of our lifetimes. We came close under Reid then from 2001 to now the only time we’ve had a sniff was half time in the league cup final v city and these last few weeks.

It’s an interesting dynamic when 8th - 9th can get Europe, that’s sometimes just 15 points clear of relegation.

And?

Villa are a top side, we battled back into the the game and could have won and ended up losing in injury time. So to me that has no bearing at all on tonight.

Tonight the first goal was a mistake by Hume but even then a fluke deflection that went in. The 2nd goal was a goalkeepeing error, the only one with his feet all season. The 4th goal was a crazy deflection that went straight to their striker totally unmarked about 8 yards out. Our marking was poor certainly. On another day it could have been only 1 or 2 nil at halftime.
Papering over the cracks a bit here mind … overall, despite starting well the first half was abysmal defensively and a shock to everyone in the ground. But we’ve seen the precarious playing out from the back repeatedly in the last few games so to be honest not totally unexpected. To concede again at the end was really disappointing as we gave it a pretty good go in the second half.

Not one person knows if next seasons table could be better for our European aspirations or if this season was our best chance
You can't pick and choose when you get Europe.
You also can’t pick and choose when the tables going to be favourable or shit towards us. Next seasons table could be a breeze or we could be miles off who knows

Both Sadiki and Alderete made errors that lead to shots but neither of them was anything special.

Jesus' effort was square across the goal and deflected in by Hume. It was a total fluke. Roefs fucked up. Our marking was awful for the 3rd goal, both Jesus and Gibbs - White unmarked. 4 goal, nothing shot (not unlike Mukiele's against Spurs) deflected to possibly the only player unmarked in the box. We didn't get any run of the green tonight. Even our goal was chalked off for nothing.

The players had busted their nuts all second half and were taking chances so to get hit on the break was hardly surprising.

That’s true. We will struggle next season regardless for me, but if we were in Europe people would say that’s the reason. If West Ham were in it this year, people would say that’s why they are struggling.

It’s a factor ofcourse, playing more games can take its toll, but I do think it’s an excuse. The mags said they are doing so poorly because of CL midweek but since the international break they’ve been arguably even worse in terms of their performance levels with a fresh week around games!

It’s a message board. Would be weird if some fans didn’t vent after losing 5-0 at home.

Not sure I’d ever come on the SMB if people just posted bigger picture comments.

Our record loss at the SOL when we’ve had 2 sub-20 points season, a relegation to the third tier and going 364 days without a home win. I’m totally furious to be honest, promotion, 6 points against the mags and likely safety aside.

Losing can become a habit. I’m worried for next season tbh.
