Patto

He’s always been a fantastic shot stopper, for a big lad he can move quick.

His distribution let him down and seemed to hesitate at set pieces.

Regardless, the lad is very good keeper.
Good shot stopper. Not a flashy keeper but his distribution was rank and never improved (got worse when he stacked the beef on)Mind early showings from our current back up keeper he is nt great either at it. Has a heavy first touch and is very slow to rectify it.

I think if we sell Roefs we would try to replace him rather than bringing Patterson back into the first team.
I can't see a scenario where Patterson is our first choice next season, unless things go very wrong on the GK department.

Ellborg is a more natural Roefs replacement and looks promising, and I expect we're also scouting other options too, so if he stays, at best Patterson is backup, and worst he's sitting 3rd choice or beyond.

I like him, he served us well, always love a local lad, and he's a good keeper, but I'd say cash in no matter what this summer.

Ellborg is nowhere near Prem ready, he is a mile off. Even if Roefs doesn't move the club needs to think carefully whats going to happen if Roefs gets an extended injury and maybe buy a keeper in for a couple of seasons.
Ellborg played 7 1st team games and a couple in Europe then Malmo bought a 1st choice keeper because he wasn't ready. Thats not that long ago if he wasn't ready for Swedish league he isn't for the prem and it shows. He could be a really good keeper in time but not now. I suspect Young isn't far off his level.

When has it shown???? Wins at Leeds and the landfill with him in the side. 2 of our most hostile away games
Still stunned by his save at Wembley. Unbelievable.
Ridiculous save, absolutely superb
