East Rainton CC will be holding our Have a go day on Friday 1st May. If you want to get back into game, havent played since school or just want to give it a try. Just come along to our ground at 6pm. Mens, womens and kids sessions will be running. (Plus its free!)

Fantastic little league. I played on and off for Hartlepool Power Station whilst playing NYSD too up until this year. Sadly we were struggling for bodies so ended up folding and moving what we did have across to Seaton Carew.
Big shame, as those ‘village’ leagues are great for visiting some really weird and wonderful little grounds with lovely people.

Made my debut on Sunday in a friendly.
We batted first. I came in at 7, got 0 from 10 balls before being caught behind after the slightest of nicks. Still, had a brilliant time and played OK shots off four of the balls I faced. Facing a proper bowler on a fairly green wicket is a completely different experience to nets!
Unfortunately, while fielding at backward point, set off sprinting after a ball and my calf popped. So currently on crutches and waiting to find out how bad it is.
Least we won I suppose!

Stick at it (when back fit) mate. Your improvement will be exponential once you get five or ten innings in you.

We’ve a friendly on Saturday and I’m looking forward to playing again, especially looking at the weather forecast.
