Chris Rigg

If he can add goals to his game no reason he can’t reach the heights of Lamprd and Gerard IMO

He's way off that level yet.

The lad does have something though, and if he can gain a bit of a frame and some strength, he'll no doubt be a big asset to the club.

Be interesting to see what happened if we bring in a much needed first team ready right winger in the summer. I guess that will probably reduce Riggs minutes to a finisher and the odd cup game start, which is still no bad thing at his age, but he may want more games himself.

🤣🤣🤣🤣

I think seeing Chris Rigg with Luke o9 at the end of the derby at SJP was a turning point for Chris Rigg .

You could see what it meant to him and Luke o9 as well. They were both letting the result sink in.

A milestone for the two lads at different ends of their careers.

Funny he should mention lampard as a lot of west ham fans were very critical of him as a youngin.

Not saying he is going to match what Gerrard or Lampard done as they were fantastic footballers but he will finish this season having done more than them at an equivalent age. Not sure it’s worthy of trying to mock people
At Rigg’s age Lampard had played 13 PL games (plus 2 the season before) after spending the second half of the previous season in the 3rd tier, and hadn’t scored any goals.

Gerrard had made 12 appearances for Liverpool at the same age. Again, no goals.

Looks like Riggy is going to finish this season with 29 appearances (currently 10 of them starts, likely to be 15) and at least one goal.

Do you mean when lampard and gerrard were in their prime ? Or when they were 18? Lampard for example made his West Ham debut at 18 after a few games for Swansea. Rigg has played almost 100 games.

He’s a great player and seems like an even better person. Let’s just manage him well and watch him flourish. No need to be heaping pressure on him comparing him to Lampard or Gerrard. All it takes is a few posts on it and it becomes gospel on here, and people’s expectations start running.

Hopefully he’s here for years.

Agree with this. And let’s be honest both were a bit overrated. Good players but not in the same league as some others playing at the relevant time.

Always two there are
Eerr actually I think you'll find that's a reference to Sith Lord's actually.... so who looks a complete twat now? Ah yes that'll be me.

Rigg's got a big chance to have a great career but loads of work to do and might I say some favourable luck.

Could end up being an elite player or could end up like Lee Clark as a comparison. He was a stand out youth player but never fulfilled his potential. Think he made a full England squad when he played for us but then made some bad choices shall we say. Still had a good career but the point is it doesn't matter how good you are at 18 as it guarantees nothing.

What is his contract situation? I'd be looking to tie him down to the longest deal we can over the summer. Hopefully this season has shown him that even after signing more or less a whole new team he has still had opportunities, which at his age is huge.

Has he played for England U21s yet? You'd think that's the next step in his international career
