Championship tell VAR to do one.

This might not be a popular view but we are exactly the type of club that benefits from VAR, even if it still doesn't get everything right. We'd miss it if it was gone. Those no way 'decisions even themselves out throughout the year'.

Couldn't care less personally..it's absolutely ruining the game

Our time will come with VAR, make no mistake, we are riding the wave.
It will spit us out in time.

It's fkin gash and sucks the life out of celebrating a goal

Exactly.. do a poll with only match going fans across the premier League and it would be 80-90% in favour of getting rid

Ask armchair fans and the sky boy generation and they'll probably want to keep it as they have the attention span of goldfish and need constant drama

There is nothing wrong with var but it’s a conflict of interests as you have got refs watching the tv trying to not drop there mates in it hiding behind clear and obvious look at our not given pen at Bournemouth

I find myself a massive outlier in that I think VARs a good thing, all the discussions are around how its bad and ineffective, but anyone who watches other leagues knows it can be done well with the right tech and staff.

This turning of the media and fans against VAR is honestly one of the biggest stitch ups by the FA, Premier League, PGMOL, and I will wear my tin hat on this as I expect pelters.

Edit: Honestly every single MOTD, every podcast has some pundits exasperated at it, VARs technology, it’s like blaming guns for WW1, blame the bloody organisation thats meant to be sorting training out etc
I broadly agree. However, if only ... a decision could be made in less than a minute and if not, allow the original decision of the referee to hold. Also, after the match, surely it is not beyond the PL to look at instances of where there is a suspicion of a player diving, whether it be looking for the contact or plainly falling over in the penalty box, and in such an event take retrospective action.

Big up the championship.
Maybe listening to the view of the fans.
We wouldn't be in the Premier League without VAR

Refs inconsistency and application of rules is the problem.

VAR ain't going anywhere. Even if I'd rather go back to not having it.

This.

Similar systems work well in other sports but the Premier League are hopeless.

Clear and obvious, 2 minutes max for non factual decisions like offsides. No refs going to screens, total waste of time, the bloke in the box decides.

That would be a start.
Main ref in the video room would be a massive improvement IMO as I've said it for years now. It shouldn't even have to be 2 mins for many of the decisions. Many times you can make the call from a single angle watching a replay the once, or maybe a few times just like we do when watching on TV. If a ref can't call it watching numerous replays, even in 1 minute then they could just leave it as it's within that grey area but without C&O making that grey area bigger at both ends. Also some of those decisions would be looked at while the ball is still in play so some won't delay the game as long.

I've suggested that if the main ref is in the video room then he can call out a dive but all while play continues. The assistant ref is then told in the next break of play to book the player diving and explains it to the crowd.

The same can go for any missed yellow for a foul or owt off the ball/handbags or if a yellow is given incorrectly. It's simply reviewed while play continues but a yellow can be given or rescinded in the next break of play. No more having players given an incorrect 1st yellow and then having to change their tactics for the rest of the game.

I’m at carrow road with the boy atm watching them against derby county, there was a few folks doing surveys about VAR. Bit late if it’s already been rejected

The decisions VAR makes are fine. It’s the fact that it removes spontaneity from goal celebrations that is my issue with it. Hate it with a passion.

Eventually all decisions will be made by AI bots anyway.

Tell you what like if var rules out that Ipswich penalty against boro the league is much tighter at the top, be plenty like that throughout the season. Much rather that with the delays (and mistakes) that come with it rather than just trusting the offici
Ipswich also got a horrific penalty given in their game away at Norwich recently.

VAR gets more right than wrong but it’s a spectator sport and it’s killing the vibe and enjoyment for fans. And you’re never going to sort out the contentious decisions in the grey area, the amount staying with the onfield decision seems to have increased as the season goes on, but this is meaning one pen is given and one not for the same offence which surely can’t be right.

They aren't. We are still getting blatant fouls ignored and barely any contact being allowed. They've raised the bar too high to protect the onfield decisions.

Decisions aren't fine though. We're no further forward

Look at the le fee non penalty at Bournemouth. Without VAR , the ref just gives it
For me it's simply the agony of fans/ players celebrating a goal only for it to be wiped out 2 minutes later.

That takes away the joy of the game imo.

It takes away the very essence of the game
