Slot - could he be in trouble?

See I love Roy Keane. He is a winner and I loved the Sunderland team we became under him.

I’m not a fan of Ferguson.
I don't think you need to be a 'fan' of Ferguson to appreciate his football management skills. In truth, I'm not a massive fan of Fergie as a person, it was his greed with the racehorses that first opened the door for the Glazers to pillage the club.
His management record with Aberdeen and United is beyond question though. There is a reason Harvard University used to pay him a fortune to give their keynote presentations on management. I worshipped Royston as a player but as a manager he isn't and never will be in Fergie's league.

Don’t think there’s really much for him to do. Champions league squad that achieved very well in domestic leagues to boot. Unless they suddenly think they deserve to be title chasers then I can’t see him being sacked. He’s no Klopp and we’ll find that out as Klopps side ages or moves on

See Roy Keanes take on Ferguson’s management skills
In terms of football managerial ability and achievements, RK is not fit to be mentioned in same breath as Ferguson
After the chequebook was taken off him RK was finished as a manager. He did a runner and left a mountain of debt and 5hite players on obscene contracts
His chance to redeem himself at Ipswich was another 5hitshow. He left another mountain of debt and crap squad behind that the much maligned Micmac ended up having to fix on a shoestring

Was always going to be a challenge bedding so many new players in. It was either going to be seamless and they run away with the league, or it would be like it has been with some difficult times. It hasn't helped him that he's not had a 2 top strikers both available at the same time.

I do feel he needs to start well next season though or they might make a change quickly - especially if he's given decent backing again this summer

Surprised if true, finishing 5th is tragic with that squad and a load of their matchgoing fans have turned on him.
Lot of churn going on at Liverpool in the last 12 months or so - Van Dijk and Salah coming to the end, TAA already gone, Robertson leaving. Isak having no pre-season, then breaking his leg. Then you have the likes of Ekitike and Wirtz having to settle in a new league, not to mention the awful passing of Diogo Jota in the summer. That's quite a lot for a club to contend with - finishing 5th will be a decent return for them

It's a lot, but outside of the Jota situation it's not that out of the ordinary. When you consider that United, who've been awful for most of the season, are probably going to finish above them, it shows you where the standard is at.

The bigger concern is how he gets the fans back on side, as a lot of the faithful library goers turned on him a few weeks back.

He doesn't play the attractive front footed football that they are used to, even with the depth of attacking options they have. I'm not sure he's going to win the fans over tbh.

I think if he has a poor start, they'll have to pull the trigger on him pretty quickly.

Liverpool had very few injuries last season, when Slot won the League.
This season they kept VVD & Salah, on much higher contracts, with both deteriorating.
They have signed expensive players who haven't pulled up trees or have suffered long term injuries.
But, a Liverpool supporting mate, thinks the style of football is the biggest disappointment this season.
Think they'll be mad to stick with him as don't think they will challenge for the League with Slot in charge ?
