Stay Humble

Yesterday's match thread was one of the worse I've known. People spouting utter shite and slagging half the team off.

Yeah O'Nein wasn't great but Ballard wasn't match fit. Anyone with half a brain knows a player who hasn't played for over a month can't be expected to start a game but apparently Regis was just being stubborn

Halfway through the second half we had been f***ing shite all game. Despite playing canny first half but hey forget about that, we've been shite

Then Diarra, a 22 year old in his first season at the top level makes a brilliant run, is picked out and makes a reasonable attempt to score, only denied by a great save by a world cup winner. Apparently he was just trying to be a show pony / selfish etc. He's f***ing shite, never does nowt (great run and cross for the first goal yesterday!) should be sold and never play for us again. I've known more mature people still wearing nappies. Absolute horrendous 'supporters'.

Stay humble. Enjoy the lads efforts and back them especially when the going gets tough or fuck off.
Great post Keith

Almost certain I saw some silly shite call for RLB to replace Diarra with an academy player for the rest of the season. That’s the kind of shite you’d expect a mag to say
Sounds like something Donald down the wing would come out with

The obvious answer is pure Frustration because of the Fans Love of Sunderland but! There must be Realism, we have beat the Richest club in the Universe twice & probably along with the Barcelona 7-2 defeat have made them up the Road Realise that they are not that good actually, finishing above them & possibly ending up in Europe would be Mega & Almost Break them!

Oh aye nowt wrong with frustration i totally get that

But just like you say remember what we have done to them and where we could end up and how far we have come as well

Good times ahead

One of the easiest things to reinjure is a hamstring. You don't rush those back. Ballard was on the bench to be used only if necessary and Alderete's injury forced him into the game.

In terms of "staying humble", how often have we scored two in a minute and almost three in seven minutes against anyone, let alone a top tier team? It was exciting but if that had happened to us everybody would be complaining that we "switched off" and couldn't see out a win. Did we suddenly become world beaters or did Villa switch off? Sancho made some costly mistakes and thankfully the 'Til the End spirit of our team made us good enough to take advantage. Then Villa woke up and showed their class :)

Seen some absolute whoppers on here about the Villa game and other games this season

But through it all we have had a great season mind, better then any of us ever thought

So lets not spoil ourselves as fans and realise that we have done amazing and come a long way this season alone

We now have the best team I have ever seen in my lifetime

And i am not saying lets all be happy clappers but lets not be like some other visiting team fans and lets just Stay Humble lads and lasses and appreciate where we are and also look forward to what is to come

Its one hell of a ride being a MLF
What do you mean though? "Stay humble"?? What has been posted about the Villa game and other games?

Check out the match thread or the Diarra thread or even the 09 thread

I get we are frustrated and thats a good thing but we dont over react we dont become the fans who think we are better than what we are right now

We stay with this team and players and we realise how far we have come

Whatever happens this season ahs been amazing and i think next season is going to to be even better

Emery tried to rest a couple of his key players after a European game midweek. We had only had a couple of shots second half and didn't look like we would do much. It nearly came back to bite him on the arse.

He wasn't wrong really but as Mr Clough once said it only takes a second for someone to have a dodgy touch, get the ball pinched off their toes and a full back to pull off a brilliant finish from a tight angle (sorry to misquote you Brian 🙂).

It's one of the reasons we love football. I enjoyed the match. You can't win them all and we gave them a huge scare. It was canny.

The fans were with the team yesterday. Haven't heard the fans not get behind the team. On here it's just frustration and people letting off steam mate. Football is passionate. We need to move on from saying we were in League 1 once, we have moved on and some fans need to ;)

And i get frustration and letting off steam i did it after the Port Vale game i was genuinely gutted but we cant ever forget where we have been cos the story is that and now we look at where we are going so yeah we dont think we should be winning away at Villa we take the defeat on the chin and we move on

I haven't seen anyone saying we should be beating Villa away personally mate.

Ok not saying before the game but after Diarra miss and when Villa were winning the match thread was full of people saying that

I am on about as a whole though dont be like the visitors thinking we have a god giving right and just enjoy every bot of it cos we are going to keep getting better and better and the future is looking very good
