Creating chances.

For goal one he was left exposed to the oncoming Watkins and slipped but the cross should never be coming in. Second goal was Rigg's fault as he lost his man. The third goal was down to Le Fee and Reinildo's fannying about. Fourth goal he was slow to react and partly responsible though Talbi could have prevented the cross.

Talbi doesn’t cover himself in glory like. Just jogs out to Digne, should’ve been busting a gut to stop the cross.

All things that I’m sure will be pointed out to them and hopefully they’ll learn from.

Seven on target against Villa, Eight on target against the unwashed.

We've started to create far more chances than at any other time of the season. Yes, yesterday was a kick in the nads but we're definitely heading in the right direction.

KTF.
Definitely better and encouraging.

It was class seeing us putting some direct straight through balls through yesterday. More of that would be tremendous, as yesterday proved, we have the players to get on the end of them and players like Xhaka and Le Fee to make them. That coupled with how we use Brobbey gives us a couple of dangerous options.

I feel like RLB's main focus initially was being hard to beat and accumulating as many points as possible. Now there is no threat of relegation we can take the handbrake off a little bit. I think we'll be much more adventurous next season
That's what I reckon is going on too.

Need our attackers to find their rhythm as they've been a bit starved this season.

Next year we might be able to find that nice balance.

The positive for me is we’ve not sacrificed defence to create more chances. We gave up far too many chances yesterday but that wasn’t cos we were ploughing forward.

Goal 1 - ELF doesn’t track McGinn and Sadiki realised too late to cover.
Goal 2 - Rigg doesn’t track the run and stop the cross.
Goal 3 - Reinildo gives the ball away really poorly.
Goal 4 - Talbi doesn’t stop the cross but it’s 2v1 in the box and we should defend it better.

They’re all just individual errors caused by good play by Villa, but not because we’re throwing men forward.
I agree

But Reinaldo was dropped in the shit by Le Fee too.

Exactly.

Yes we conceded 4, but none of them were because we were being outplayed. They were all, to a good extent, down to individual mistakes. Of course it's never good for a player to make those kind of mistakes, but at least we've hopefully got them all out at once!

I thought O'Nien was definitely run ragged by the end of the game, but those first two goals (from memory - the first definitely was) were great crosses into the box in horrible areas that you'd expect a top class striker to absolutely thrive on - issue was more to do with failing to stop the cross than any defensive failure in the six yard box imo.

And Watkins is one of the best at getting on the end of stuff like that.

Watkins was razor sharp and in great form but if Ballard is playing I don't think he scores the second goal Luke was touch tight but Watkins just shrugged him off.

He's a very good championship defender but this level is too much for him and the more games he plays the more exposed he will be.

Starting to click together as a really good team, excellent!👌

Their movement was some of the best i've seen this season.

But that's all Luke's fault too.

The first two goals were both cracking crosses, but on both occasion he lost Watkins and let him have a completely clear header.

ELF actually half arsed passed McGinn on to Reinaldo which gave him the freedom to run into the box.

It was also the first time we’ve conceded 4 all season. As with all things there’s a balance.
Play your best defence and we don’t concede 4 imo. They targeted the weak link from the off on Saturday and it worked a treat. Long balls into Watkins knowing o9 would get tight, crosses into the area covered by 09. All season we’ve happily let teams go wide put the crosses in and dominate our own box. I love the kid but when you look at the bench just didn’t make sense imo. I m not saying get rid of him, just play him when we have to.

We started the season with a whole new squad. They know each other much better now and Le Fee is a menace with his through balls. Would be great to finish on a high and in the top 8.
Couldn't believe we were inches away from closing in on Villa (we would've been 3 points away from them), but we're still in it.
Gather the troops, Granit!

I read elsewhere on the Board that three of these were entirely the fault of 09!!
