If Villa win the Europa League

Its only if villa wouldn't qualify through the league. The spare place in the champions league goes via club individual coefficient I believe. Thats chosen via team's who'd have ordinarily have had to go through qualifying phases.

@Roker Mackem, reading this it does seem that Villa winning the Europa and qualifying via league means it doesn't push down a place so I was right in what I said earlier so I rescind my apology 😉

It is for this reason, under the 2024–27 club competition format, if the Europa League winners have also qualified for the league phase of the Champions League via their domestic league position, then the club with the best individual coefficient of all the teams in Champions League qualifying (champions path and league path) goes directly to the league phase.

Should a Premier League club win the UEFA Europa League, they will automatically qualify for the league phase of next season's UEFA Champions League regardless of their finishing position in the league.

If a club win the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League and finish in the top four, their qualification for the UCL through their league position is not transferred to another team.

:edit: saying that I apologise again as I stopped reading after the above and missed this 🤣

If fifth place earns a UCL berth and a team finishing fifth win the Champions League or win the Europa League, both feats which earn UCL qualification, the EPS will drop down a place.

No that doesnt apply if they finish 5th though as that would be the extra spot, which is transferred to 6th.

Apology re-accepted 😉

So that winner was a double kick in the stots, if we'd beat them today and Liverpool win, then more chance of them finishing 5th

If Villa finish 5th and win Europa league they’ll be CL means 6th will be CL 7th will be EL 8th will be Conference League. Should the FA cup winners qualify already then 7th and 8th would be EL and 9th would be Conference league. The other have a real chance of getting in as it stands. We’ve played our most difficult game of run in today and still 2 points of 6th

5th is fine for you and youll win the EL anyway. Just lose a few please
Well we are duty bound to beat Spurs for the sake of football fans everywhere, but we have e Liverpool and Manchester City with the potential EL final in between so those could be two losses as we would not play a full team in either.

That's if we get past Forest, which I'm not at all confident about.
