Exactly, just do enough to avoid the playoffs and use it to get fringe players minutes.
 
Ultimately the discussion is academic as the club/players won’t go into games with the mindset of avoiding qualifying for Europe and if they win enough games they may well qualify. That doesn’t impact on fans having a view on which European tournament it is and how it may affect us, it just has no effect on whether we qualify or not.

Id be tempted to go to one just for the lads jolly away as an experience, and the more obscure the easier to get tickets, but getting there will be more problematic. Although in the group stage, there should be at least 1 game away to a decent city.

If we get into Europe next season it will ultimately make our league campaign tougher next year which will hinder our chances of qualifying for Europe...

Some of us are pragmatic and realistic.

Chances of getting in Europe, fairly slim but City are favourites for the FA cup and Villa probably favourites for Europa cup so 8th could definitely be enough.

Changes of beating Villa? Slim but both are possible and I'm daring to dream without getting too excited just yet.

They’ve just had a great season in Europe but now it’s over , the manager is on the verge of being sacked .

If we do get there , the threads complaining about the drop in league performance, the shit kick off times and the injury list will be as many as the ones buzzing about Aberdeen on a Thursday night .

That's down to lack of strategy, planning and organisation at the higher levels of their club imo.
