We haven’t had a decent government in my lifetime (apart from a spell under Labour). I’m 38Aye not going to turn it into a political thread, but the stupidity of not protecting British steel works, is coming back to haunt us.

We had 47k v Burnley on a Monday night btw
Probably ..but as many have said steel prices are at an all time high because of the trump effect and personally i think the owners will wait for calmer times before building an extension ..why pay 1000 dollars for a ton of steel when if you wait a year youl get it for 500 dollars ...Its very insecure times and only fools build under those circumstances!Actually think depending on how we finish this season & how we get on next a decision will be made.
Think the club will be wary of what is happening around sheepfolds...
Looks a similar price to the last five years or so to me, certainly not double.Probably ..but as many have said steel prices are at an all time high because of the trump effect and personally i think the owners will wait for calmer times before building an extension ..why pay 1000 dollars for a ton of steel when if you wait a year youl get it for 500 dollars ...Its very insecure times and only fools build under those circumstances!
It was just an example...Looks a similar price to the last five years or so to me, certainly not double.
Agree. I'm 41 and the only good period for this country I would say was the brief New Labour era from abour 1997 to 2005. After that everything went downhillWe haven’t had a decent government in my lifetime (apart from a spell under Labour). I’m 38![]()
SOL was designed to extend upwards. So its already easier than you would think.I don’t remember that, but most steel frames are bespoke. So each steel section and connection is sized and designed to do a particular job structurally. If Bob has a yard somewhere with a replica of the north extension sat there then the design would be pretty fixed, but he could make a few quid selling it to the club.
I thought the major motivation for expansion was to increase the hospitality offering and to offer a better fan experience (wider concourses etc), like Fulham’s recent expansion, and to therefore improve the matchday revenue? I don’t see how the previous expansion would be relevant as the hospitality and concourses aren’t big enough. They would need to build up and out, not just up, I would imagine the layout would be very different to what’s been built before.Agree. Anyone who thinks Reform are the answer are in for a very bad wake up call tho.

Villa.park extension is 100 millionHow much will adding 5000 seats cost? And do we know what the projected revenue increase the newly designed ground will bring in? It’s all down to money, plus we do need to upgrade facilities the ground is looking pretty old compared to those new grounds that are appearing, not surprising given it was built at the end of last century!
Is the current bloke the answer?Agree. I'm 41 and the only good period for this country I would say was the brief New Labour era from abour 1997 to 2005. After that everything went downhill

The south stand x tension basic plans are there and you can see that they have tinkered with the design a little (from the original extension proposal ) to reduce the extra seats by 2000 )5500 not 7500)and increase the size of the concourse and corporate offerings ....any extension in my view will follow those plans (especially the footprint ) The east stand extension I hope(if it ever happens ) this will be the jewel in the crown as there are no plans or proposals and there(so a blank canvas) is enough room to make the East stand a fantastic venue for corporate and a thing of beauty that our magnificent fans deserve.I thought the major motivation for expansion was to increase the hospitality offering and to offer a better fan experience (wider concourses etc), like Fulham’s recent expansion, and to therefore improve the matchday revenue? Villa closing the whole North stand next season too for their extensionVilla.park extension is 100 million
Elland Road is 150 million
Luckily we wouldn't have to do thisVilla closing the whole North stand next season too for their extension

I suspect with any extension the extra seats would be the smallest revenue stream to come from it. They'd be targeting extra corporate areas, hospitality etc.How much will adding 5000 seats cost? I think between 200 and 500 people would be effected so there would need to be a plan in place to put them somewhere.. then where do they go once its complete because their seats would not exist anymore.Where will people in the last few rows of the East Stand be moved to while building takes place? I suppose you could fit them all into a section over the west stand premium until its complete?
Of course they will be targeting corporate but they will also be aware that the more people in the ground does more for the overall revenue to the club than the simple number from ticket sales .....I suspect with any extension the extra seats would be the smallest revenue stream to come from it. They'd be targeting extra corporate areas, hospitality etc.
