Sadiki to Chelsea (internet chat)

Caicedo is brilliant. Their Enzo is also very good but they massively overpaid for him
I think Fernandez is excellent me, but price like you say is the killer, if he’s 40-60m he’s seen as excellent value. North of 100m he’s in the theyve had your pants down territory- see Woltemade on the sliding scale.

Power lies with us really, they pay the fee or they don't get him. They're more than welcome to look elsewhere. I wouldn’t begrudge Sadiki a move if he wanted it, but we need to benefit as well.
How much did we pay for him and how much realistically do you think we should get ?
Double would be my guess ?( at least )-mind thats all it is as I kna nowt

I don't want him to go, but that is part of the model. Thats part of how we will attract good young players, by not standing in their way when bigger opportunities come up. Obviously we have to do it sensibly, we can't sell 3 or 4 key players every year.

If Sadiki goes, you probably looking at trebling his value in 1 season. He was 15m? You'd asking for 40-50m.

As much as I’d be sad to see him go I can’t see any way in which Sadiki would see a move to Chelsea as being ‘mad’.

He’d probably at least double if not treble his salary, he’d be guaranteed European football of some kind.

In all honesty his profile would increase and his chances of winning honours would increase massively (Chelsea in the last five seasons have won what four trophies ?, compared to our League 1 and Championship playoff wins).
But what great days they were! Never downplay an achievement! Biggest games we could’ve won them 2 seasons

Agreed. People are getting slightly carried away. I feel there’s going to be a lot of people disappointed with the fee if we do sell him like but then again there’s figures like 80 and 100 million getting thrown about on here

Unless someone in the Middle East takes a liking to one of ours I think the only one that we have to worry about this Summer is Roefs.

Maybe a chance a bigger Spanish or Italian club tests the waters for Alderete but given his age and iffy form in 2026 can't see any bigger clubs over here being that interested.

I can see us letting one go, unsure on who out of roef and sadiki

I think the club will have an eye on europe to keep players and strengthen.

Because he’ll hardly play that’s why.
If Chelsea pay the sort of fee required to convince us to see Sadiki they won’t be buying him to sit on the bench. The player himself would be confident enough in his own ability to think he’s good enough to play regularly in Chelsea’s team.

People overrating Sadiki here somewhat. He’s a good player and really energetic but the likes of enzo, caicedo and Wharton have him beat on just about every metric except dribbling.

In one sense I’m surprised there’s so much interest in the modern game seeing as all we hear about is stats. Statistically sadiki doesn’t stand out at all but he’s great example of a player where stats don’t tell the story.

He’s important to us though and whether we could replace him is a different matter altogether.

After that championship season with Steele, camp and ruiter (was that his name?!) I’m hoping we keep roefs most of all. Learned the hard way just how important a decent keeper is!

Just said from a positional squad perspective losing a good midfielder wouldn’t. Eva’s much as a replacement challenge as our keeper …he’s crucial
Rather keep the lot mind as we are onto something here

Only flip to that is we are on way up …..not sure Chelsea are ?
Chelsea have the sort of money to bounce back next season. Just look at the honours they’ve won. They’re supposedly a ‘basket case’ now but sit 6th in the table and in an FA Cup semifinal. I’d take that as a bad season any day !

I’m not down playing them and they were great days in our recent history. Chelsea have won the FIFA World Club Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and the UEFA Conference League in the same timeframe by comparison

True but they've just announced gazillions of pounds of losses and are on a really shit run. Not sure they are the best club to go to at the minute imo other than the most obvious,£ and long contracts

Whilst I agree we would take that
We are heading in a great direction ànd listening to our players this week they seem to be all in
Yes we will lose one or two but I can see us at least consolidating and maybe even improving next season
Chelsea could be in for transfer “trouble “ it seems ?
Financially no doubt the grass would be greener -but football wise a couple more seasons here ànd see where we heading ?
Quite exciting all told after what we’ve been through

Chelsea have a modern history everyone is jealous of. They will get back to it again too. I know these yanks are mental and burning the money but it’ll settle and eventually they will be challenging for the title again. A good coach would be their best move. I don’t see Sadiki being more than a squad player for them. That said it could still equate to 25-30 games with cups etc.

If we lose him, he’s going for a lot of money! Over to our upgraded recruitment team and ghilosfi to get the next batch of players in.
