Just looking at the points totals from last five seasons for 7th place.

you generally need about 60, 61, 62 points which seems a bit of a stretch.. outlying totals as high as 66 and as low as 56.

a bit of traffic in our way but Brentford not in good form right now and we have to play Everton.

In summary.. not beyond the realms of possibility but a real stretch.

If we beat Villa it’s game on though!

Man U Chelsea Liverpool and Aston Villa have to play each other in various permutations so will drop points regardless. Aston Villa also play Man City away.

Man U Chelsea and Villa have to play us. It wouldn't take a radical miraculous change in fortunes to be amongst it on the last day. However, I'm not holding my breath :lol:

Yeah I agree, like I said earlier, almost every team chasing europe had at least 10 points from games against Southampton, Ipswich and Leicester.....won't be anything like that this season!
 
Be nice if we could but we would need to severely bolster our squad with seasoned quality experienced players to cope with both extra games and higher quality opposition in later stages
Just hope we have the dosh to do it

Its to play for. It really is as simple as us getting the results.

We know we are capable of doing it, we are competitive enough. We just have to go for it and see what happens. There is no shame in missing out- I will say that our whole- 'till the end- attitude really permeates the club and there is no manager more capable than Le Bris amongst our rivals in getting us to perform.

I also have a sneaky suspicion that Diarra, Le Fee and Rigg are poised to really kick on and be fantastic for the rest of the season.
 
The other factor that will have a bearing on the points total required is that all the sides competing for 6th - say 9th place in the table (and currently only six points separate Chelsea in 6th and the Visitors in 14th) have at least two games left against other sides in that part of the table and a few have three games against fellow ‘European qualification’ contenders.

I dont think low cost is what last season was
