SAFC - Fan Ban & Ticket Cancellations

Im sure what can be agreed upon though is that the majority of 65 people had tickets cancelled for scum that they earned points for because they were bought by the organiser. They were then allowed to buy with fastest finger first despite having considerably more points than their competition. Given many of them then missed out on the match is unfair and wrong and I dont believe they were treated or represented fairly and in a timely manner. That is why I called it a PR stunt from beginning.
Not one person does not have sympathy for the innocent people caught up in this.

But this is turning into a rant about RAWA amongst others. If we’re being honest I bet 95% of the match going fans don’t even know or care about this. And the people you are now going after have acted.

And still the fundamental (and very simple) question has not been responded too.

Did he knowingly pass on Premier League away tickets to those not entitled to them? A simple yes or no would suffice. Or an answer with no whataboutary either.

Talking about Championship games years ago is not relevant.

Another whopper muddying the waters.

Am I having a pop at RAWA? Certainly, they've been absolutely rubbish.

Am I having a pop at Becs, no. She is a (lowly) rep with (seemingly very) little influence in the decision making process.

If I was the RAWA rep I would have resigned my position because I wouldn't want to be associated with utter arseholes supposedly representing our fans.

I've resigned from being a mod for far, far less...

Muddying the waters

I’m giving balance more than anything else. But then that’s now allowed on here. We all need to be in a rage about it - even after back to back wins. Just venting on a forum thread. Continuously. Aye that’ll show ‘em.

You're basically backing the club and spouting nonsense. Is that balance? Not for me.

Given RAWA are a fans group who claim to represent all fans they are going to be ones who fans expect to do something. Thats why getting some questions asked of them I guess.

Those innocent fans had tickets taken off them a short period of time before scum where time was of essence. Given the shroud of secrecy that covers RAWA we dont know when contacted and content.

The assumption 95% fans wont know or care will be correct but bet nowhere near that percentage of away fans. The passionate and dedicated. Ones who are helped with travel by P, see him and the 64 at away games when it wasnt fashionable and football not good. People didnt care about tickets then as they didnt care about going.

I dont know answer to question youve asked.

What about answers to these questions? Why have club got personal and targeted him? Why do it now and not end of season? Why not wait until the spring break between scum and Spurs to resolve? Why is it one rule for one and another? Why take tickets from fans and allow to reapply? Were these asked by RAWA? Who knows because unlike other fangroups we dont know what is going on.

Just as much of a concern is whats next? Dread to think what Rusev and Kingsmore could come up with.

I’m not backing the club at all. I’m asking what the exact issue was for total clarity and I’m not getting an answer.

The club have released a statement.

RAWA have released a statement.

The gentleman in question has had plenty of opportunity to answer one simple question and has chosen not too. We have however seen lots of toys being thrown out of the pram by people who probably have to sort their own tickets and transport out - you know like everyone else does - and that’s about it.

How can you have a view without all of the facts?

Answering questions with questions is not helpful mate.

I’m not being awkward. I’m just saying that it’s not as cut and dry as it’s made out to be on here. I also totally agree the ticket office is a disgrace on the whole and I have absolutely no faith in Kingsmore. He’s done fuck all.

RAWA is a membership led group, i wouldn't say they represent every fan, someone might know how many members they have. You have other groups like SS and BLC who represent fans. I'm not sure you understand how RAWA works

The narrative i get and others from this is that some of the 65 haven't been attending all the away matches, and numbers and tickets have been passed on to others who don't even have a season ticket or loyalty points just to keep loyalty points high, that's why the whole group is now getting checked

He's not the only individual or group that's been targetted, the club have had meetings over the last few months with Premier League, Police and Legal Cousel about ticket touting and action has been taking to others and more will follow

Rusev is just the ticket office manager, i wouldn't say he makes all the decisions

Brandon Furse is/was the acting ticketing lead so he's the one making the decisions and policy and reporting to Kingsmore

Cant speak for others but P has never sorted out a ticket or transport for me. I do know of others he has helped with transport and what a help its been. My concern is proper fans being treated like this and a concern if it was them this time could I be next even though I buy my ticket and daughters all the time. Only rely on myself that way!

There twitter bio says "The independent voice for all SAFC supporters".

The whole group may get checked. Great. Check everyone. Check us all. I wont suffer. But to pick 65 and ban all of them a few days before scum was wrong. Allowing some to reapply against others with less points takes the piss.

Rusev is ticket office manager he will be involved! I think Furse was involved with the digital cross over I think and that went terribly! Both how reported and initial days. Then Kingsmore oversees it all so he will be involved.

I know Bruce was in a meeting with Furse about another fan who has been banned. Another face who went everywhere but people he bought tickets for passed on.

“Being treated like this” for what? Again. No answer.

The club released a statement saying it was “widespread ticket misuse”. What’s in it for them to fabricate a story?

RAWA have raised the issue. As they were asked. And reading between the lines they seem to be privy to information that would not particularly be helpful to the gentleman.

Fan groups like Roker Report were happy to raise awareness at the start but distanced themselves from it very quickly once they were made aware of certain details. Why would they do this if he was just an innocent bystander being scapegoated by the club?

We have the club statement, we have the RAWA statement but no answer from the perpetrator. Or if he’s not a perpetrator and he is a victim then an explanation is needed. And the explanation must be specifically about Premier League football tickets and their distribution. At the minute we don’t have that.

Quote me RAWA's statement(s).

They said nothing at all for 10 days then put out a statement saying nothing. They then repeated the clubs statement. Sorry that just isn't good enough. They are coming across as being in the clubs pocket. Now that might not be the case but they need to be way more open if they want to earn respect because at present they are losing any credibility.

They seem to be running a bit of a closed shop. As far as I'm aware no RTG rep has attended a single meeting! That's ridiculous. If they have 2 or 3 places in the meeting one of the main men or 2 should attend and the other place should be on a rotational basis. You can't have the same old faces turning up and the other reps being basically kept in the dark! You have the like of @Gandi Floss @Guinness Guzzler @Becs doing their leg work but never getting a seat at the table? That's controlling behaviour not an open process.

Quote you the statement. 😂

You’ve literally just said they put out a statement.

At least we can all rely on impartial moderator Keith to cause no controversy on the boards. ;)

Should be really easy to quote it then?

And then we can see if it passes scrutiny as fit for purpose for an independent fan group.

Their website's last update was 31st October last year.

They are coming across as total clowns 🤡

It has been a very one-sided thread and anyone suggesting that it might not be 100% on the club has been abused. It should be deleted imo. There's no chance that the truth will make it onto here unless it's from the main man, and that won't happen. The rest are either playing daft (for obvious reasons) or just daft

The club has come down like a tonne of bricks on a bloke who was giving up hours and hours of his free time to help Sunderland fans both online, over the phone and in person.

The main so called main independent supporters group can't update their f***ing website once this year and it's April! Haway man!

I know who I'd want in my corner and it's not the RAWA charlatans!

I was abused by a moderator which is even more absurd.

Anyway, I’ll depart this joke of a thread like others before me and those that remain can continue to piss in the wind.

"Treated like this". Having tickets taken off them at the last minute and allowing them
to reapply. Taken off before biggest away game of season.

As for no answer. The answer is pretty clear "guilt by association".

What is the answer or justification of this?

I totally agree about the same faces at each meeting, Why does RAWA have 3 seats, BLC also 3 seats and SS 2 seats, why can't they have 1 each and each group rotates who attends

None of us know mate.

Unless there's more info put out about what happened we're not likely to either, the original post by the bloke banned looked very much like a statement he'd be "asked" to post.

Then we had the club statement alleging "widespread misuse".

Since then there's been no information about the substance of the alleged wrongdoing because no one from any party that knows has said anything further.

At a guess RAWA are probably still talking in the background but unable to comment.

The only concrete thing we're aware of is the incredibly draconian punishment handed out to a bloke who is universally praised and respected for everything he's done.

Unless he or especially the club come through with more we're all just guessing.

Why because they are shit scared of the club or just in their pocket?

Sorry but an independent fan group should have never, ever just reposted the club statement without comment. It simply smacked of 'we agree'. It was comically poor.

They have lost most if not all of any credibility as an independent voice and a go to for fan grievances. They have come across as club patsys. It's rank stupidy.
