So proud to support this club

I was born in Consett but I’ve been an exile, (based in the midlands) for around 13 years now. Living away from the area has made me even more attached to the club if that makes sense, as it’s the main link to home. My last game at the SoL was way back in January 2019 vs Luton. Largely because of the Covid pandemic and becoming a father so it’s been difficult to get up to the SoL for games, although I’ve attended a fair few away games in the Midlands since then.

I managed to get two tickets for the game yesterday at short notice and brought along my nephew for his first visit to the north east. I must say I couldn’t believe my eyes walking around the city before the game. The transformation around the riverside is staggering and the walk along Keel Crossing to the ground was fantastic. The Sheepfolds looks great and it will look even better when the whole redevelopment is finished. I was so proud showing my nephew around.

The cherry on the cake was the game itself. Seeing the SoL packed out and of course the lads in red and white bagging the 3 points. The club have done an amazing job making a match day feel like a big occasion with the new sound system and the pre-match video with Xhaka on the screens.

All in all a truly fantastic day and the 5 hour trip back home was certainly worth it! I think I’ve converted my nephew too as he’s already asking to come back for another game.

What a club we support.

I came back up a few weeks ago and i am impressed with everything going on around the city (not before time like) Sheepfolds looks great, the Keel crossing also, its about time money was spent in Sunderland instead of newcastle for a change, feel Sunderland has been short changed since the creation of tyne & Wear.

It's going to look even better for Forest next Friday, and then the rest of legends way going up.

You're spot on about the tyne and Wear thing.
Sunderland should be in Co. Durham, where it belongs.

I used to get sick of all the hype about the Premier League tbf .
Massive coverage, matches on everywhere in pubs and clubs all over the country.
But now were in it .. not too bad .
What a season weve had so far, with us currently Top Dogs of North East football.

Out of about 55 Cities in England and Wales not many have Premier League teams .

CITIES
London, Liverpool, Manchester , Brighton, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Nottingham, Leeds,
Newcastle , Sunderland
TOWNS
Burnley, Bournemouth.

So yes, we are doing well and the SAFC is raising the profile of Sunderland as The place to be.

It's the city and the people of the city that make it feel like that

Unfortunately, the people who run the club couldn't give two fucks about us

They can talk about it all they want, their actions are the exact opposite.

Think you're being harsh here. I presume you are referring to the ticketing fiasco. That will fall solely on the ticket office manager. People are employed to sort that. Kyril isnt personally responsible and neither is Flo

I think a lot of these shambolic decisions are being made by people higher up than the ticket office manager

But I agree, I think KLD is sound

One if the best things about supporting the lads right now is how good the future is looking as well

The team will hopefully continue to get better and we will get European football soon

The city is on the up and the success of the football club brings this too

Our atmosphere around the city on match days is just class and the pubs and eateries are buzzing

There is young kids becoming involved and interested again and thats our future

My 10 year old and 6 year old daughters are wearing their tops again and with pride

This is the best place our club has been in for many years and the best I have ever seen

Long may it continue and KLD makes mistakes but he is putting them right and looking after our club and I believe he knows how important our fans are as well

Haaaaawwwwaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy me bonny lads
