Lois Openda (transfer rumour)

Thats crazy that mind, if the top 10 was the obligation.

I still do rate Openda though, this move just hasnt worked at all

It means Leipzig sold a front 3 of sesko, simons and openda for 190m euros (Sesko 75m, Xavi Simons 65m, Openda 50m including the loan fee)

Their DoF needs a pay increase for sure
either that or their manager for making those players look like they were worth that ammount.

As far as I recall, nobody was complaining about their prices in the summer. Most people were just saying that they’re good players

Will be interesting to see what kind of profile we bring in for the striker position, because Brobbey is going to take some displacing.
Whoever we do bring in will have to be very good, or be prepared to warm the bench a lot

If he’s a mobile 9 for me you play them both

Brobbey drops deeper and plays with his back to goal and either plays the midfield in or tries to turn his man and get it to the 9

I don’t see a world next season where we don’t play with 2 strikers on the pitch for at least part of the game

Would be an ideal loan option, Juve get his wages off the bill for a year, we get a player we rate (and most likely replaces Isidor), to play support striker to Brobbey

It could be a bit of both. They play quite attacking and exciting football so that helps aswell. The step up to the premier league isnt an easy one. As for Openda i just feel he isnt the right fit for the way Juve play. He will get back to getting 15 or so a year soon enough in my opinion

Not a chance do we ever play 2 up front bar the last 30 seconds of a game were 1 down in. Someone give this lad a lift back to the 1990s

 1 league goal he's had

Apparently the obligation was for them to just finish in the top 10
if he come to us, that would change his life.
Le Fee proved it

like what bournemouth did with Kroupi. - a back up striker. Its like he is the next line of a striker if 1st choice striker leaves.

We certainly need to do more to improve our output so it’s an option

Play him as a right sided attacker with Le Fee on the left of Brobbey. Openda is quality and would immediately become our biggest goal threat

I am a big believer in the environment of a club matching a player and Le Fee definitely shows that, you don't become a professional footballer by not having a good level of technical ability.

But not sure I'd be touching this lad regardless don't think he suits us

Looks a bit small for the PL to me. We'd have to play 2 upfront as well, which Regis has shown little appetite for. Although I'd love to see us give it a go, I'm not sure that it's in our gaffers thoughts.

Depends what other options he has, but I'm not sure that after a failed move, he'll be so keen to sit on the bench of a team where the strikers live on scraps. He;ll be wanting to go somewhere and score a few I'd have thought, maybe Turkey ?

Well they signed Nusa the season before for around 20m, bakayoko for 20m and diomande for 20m. Diomande is being linked with 80m moves to the premier league

They have scored 56 this season, 3 more than the whole of last season. Theyre sitting 4th and finished last season 7th. Its safe to say he has replaced them adequately

Also, it was more a statement making 190m for the three is incredibly high for the quality they have shown since, Sesko is on 9 in 23 which isnt bad to be fair. Simons has been a flop, and openda is on the one league goal. So 190m for the three is incredible business
Of course in retrospect 2/3 look to have been great sales whilst Sesko was still a good fee but it’s easy to sell highly rated players. Knowing when to is a skill and looks like he judged those well and replaced them well. Perhaps one to keep an eye on.

We got Diarra from them for half what was paid for Simmons and Sesko so decent business.
