Wise Men Say at halftime

Have a word Sunderland! It's not the right time for it. Can RAWA bring it up at the next shindig please?

I'm sending some other stuff to them later, so I'll add this on.

I agree it doesn't work at half time. Not enough people are back to join in with the singing to make an impact and it looks naff still blasting music out after the match has kicked off.

I also can't remember us doing it at the previous home game and I'm sober at the match! I thought someone had pressed the wrong button by accident.

We did do it last time at home (only twice up to now) and again, it wasn't necessary.

Is it always played so late? Sure yesterday when I was walking back to my seat it was still playing when Reinildo was running down the left wing with the ball .

I thought it got quite a decent response yesterday and think it's fine personally.

It came out at the recent atmosphere meeting where it was suggested as a 'cue' to get the fans dialled in for the second half. The club then followed accordingly.

Personally, I think it's a waste of time griping about this when there are likely far more pressing issues to discuss at the fan collective meeting.

Another vote for knocking it on the head at the start of the second half.

Before kick off and after the final whistle yes.
Just before second half kicks off, definitely no.

I think pre match stuff gets the atmosphere building, but things like that doesn't work - it's akin to post-goal music.

The atmosphere wasn't the best yesterday but I think that's often the case with stop-starty games like that. We were never massively under the cosh and never massively on top either (bar a short spell at the end of the first half), so not a huge amount for the support to get their teeth into. Lots of the game played sideways, lots of safe passes back to keeper. That's not a criticism of the tactics - we did what we needed to do - just an observation of what the fans were watching.

Spurs have the single-worst songbook in the league too. Their fans were quite noisy, but they have the most dreary set of songs imaginable. Sucks the life right out of the stadium.

I thought the atmosphere was fine yesterday. Not brilliant, but better than recent home games.

It wasn't terrible, just a bit subdued for a lot of the game.

I was near-ish the away end and was surrounded by non-local accents - Irish, lancs, Scottish, plus people from overseas etc. I think we've picked up a fair few casual fans this season, or else have become an attractive prospect for neutrals wanting to experience a Premier League game. There was a family of Falkirk fans directly behind me, for instance.

I think that's class, and everyone near me got properly involved, but those people aren't going to be especially raucous I suppose.
