Craft Beer

Having an Amundsen Dessert in a Can, the Coconut Choc Chip Cookie one, to celebrate the Lads’ win and the Durham win. It’s like a load of other similarly-flavoured efforts, but that’s ok, because I like them.

Had it in the Isis. Wasn’t as good as the previous tbh. Might be better on draft, and the can may have been a bit on the cold side. Was a bit thin.
Picked up a few today. Couple of bottles of the orange stout anarl.
Speaking of which, Belhaven Black in Lidl is the best canned nitro stout I've tried. Reminds me a lot of London Black at a quarter of the price. Well worth a go.
Thin, bland and pretty poor. Wouldnt buy again, and the 2 cans i have left could be looking at me when I open my beer cupboard for some time.

Dorothy Blacks from Home Bargains was far better in the cheap nitro stout pecking order. Need to try the Love Lane one from there as they know their way around a decent stout.
Just bought four cans, so I’ll be the decider. Think I’ll have one on Friday night, so everybody will be holding their breath until then.

Bought a shitload of beer recently. Vaux sub box came, went to Asda cos of TEFG, popped into Vaux today for the new brown ale & just got them four too.

One for the London heeds.....

Got a long weekend down there next month.

Staying in Hampstead and doing a day on it frequenting the pleasantries round there. Not expecting much in the way of craft, which is fine, as I'm aiming to get that fix on the Sunday. So, where would be better, Bermondsey or Hackney/Hackney Wick? Done Bermondsey a couple of times and pondering a change but didn't know what the latter would be be like, particularlyon a weekend. Seen a few youtube vids but first hand input rather than people just trying to nab likes and subscribers is always better.

Cheers in advance.

In a little spot in Haymarket Edinburgh called the wee vault. Currently drinking a creme egg stout which is incredible (14%)

howling hops at HW f***ing brilliant, it's fairly busy if West Ham are at home, but friendly enough, been a few times now, and often alter travel plans to have a look in. Can spend an entire afternoon in there working along the tanks. Crate at Hackney Wick is bang average. There's some canny little boozers in the vicinity too.

Might be tempted with there rather than Bermondsey for a change. Especially if the weather is kind. Missus with me, so street art, good places for beer/wine and a few places to graze are the boxes wanting to be ticked.

Might check the fixtures though, not sure I can be chewed with a football crowd.

I'd avoid Bermondsey on a weekend. It's full of stag dos and Essex estate agents on the packet. Bad vibe. Sunday isn't near as bad as Saturday though.

You could go up to Blackhorse Rd if you want to do taprooms. 40ft, Exale, Pretty Decent, Signature and Big Penny up there. Renegade Winery are there too if you like natural wine. Nice walk across the reservoirs to Pressure Drop and Mother Kelly's in Tottenham. Easily done in reverse too, it's all on the Victoria line.

Tbf that sounds rather good. Thank you!

Beer Merchants Tap at Hackney Wick is class too but would agree giving it a swerve on a match day.
