Whilst it was the wrong decision to penalise him rather than award him the free kick you can argue he should've stayed switched up. But emotion can kick in when an official has wronged you.

He didn't make a meal of anything tbf. He was fouled and appealed the decision to give handball against him. The type of thing we see all the time. Fair play to the Spurs lad for being quick in thought, but not sure what Reinildo couldve done anyway as its not like he couldve stopped the pass. It was on the other players as the passage of play involved others not him.

Watch the free kick. He couldn't have done anything anyway. Blocks the pass it's a free kick as he's not ten yards away. Other than that it's not even played into an area he'd have occupied or couldve impacted.
 
I think this thread proves my point tbh - he was excellent but people just seem to find reasons to be critical of him rather than praise him - much more than anyone else particularly relative to how good he is.

Unlucky the linesman staggeringly missed the foul in the build up to their incorrect penalty shout.

Right calamity of errors by the officials.
