But we did admittedly down tools when the automatics were gone. This is not a downing of tools it’s a not being a good enough set of tools. At the minute that is. Still time to goWe lost our last five going into the playoffs last season...
Their fans seem to think it’s tired legs thats the problem, Hellberg’s football is same as Koop and Bielsa based on non stop running so they have ran out of steam. On that basis they would be best doing what we did and now just concentrate on the play offs but they probably can’t afford to lose their last 4 games so bit of a tricky one.Totally get that. We’d been guaranteed 3rd place for weeks and knew we were never going up automatically, so it’s an entirely different scenario.
Boro were in the top 2 a fortnight ago and now their form is shite, so I stand by my original post, that they’ll not go up, and their form is the worst of the top 6

so nil-nil with time remaining? That was in the 97th minute when Portsmouth scored
I didn’t agree with it at the time and think Regis was gone if it back fired. Hindsight, it was a master stroke. Failure and he looks stupid. In hindsight, yeah. But plenty at the the time were kicking off and some were even saying Regis needed to go.
I don't think anybody thought that losing five on the belt going into the playoffs was good prep, whether it was a case of downing tools to get players back fit or through being awful. I think we'll be an outlier for years to come in that regard, as it’s usually the form sides that end up promoted.
Current form Southampton will destroy themSouthampton v Berra play off final
We really struggle against teams who set up with the low block. The club needed to sign a striker in January but we'd paid £6m for Strelec last summer, and he was just returning from injury, so the club decided to gamble on him coming good 2nd half of the season.16th in the home table, 2nd in the away table. Weird as fuck

We're also missing Alfie Jones, Hackney and Whittaker, who've been important players for us this season. If we can get them back fit for the playoffs it should make a difference but right now our confidence is shot.
