Well here we go again.
In an attempt not to piss off a few I promise to abide by keeping all things Swindon to this thread.
Notwithstanding just ignore if you desire.

In typical Swindon fashion plenty going on:

Tomorrow we start the campaign on the road with a trip to Walsall. Taking over 2,200 fans so should be a good atmosphere and all in support of the Holloway factor. Sold over 1,000 tickets already for our away Cup tie to Cardiff. Travelling tomorrow by train thus looking forward to a few 🍺🍺.

Off the field dare we believe. Our stand redevelopment was stopped in its tracks by the fans vote, a debatable no and fingers up to the Aussie Plumber that he is not fit for purpose in taking this club forward.
Not only this but real promise is gathering on not a case of “if” but “when” we finally rid the club of these incompetent wrong uns. Hoping he takes what is in the table as going legal will only slow down the inevitable. The day he and his cronies are gone will be a promotion winning feeling.

On the field we have secured almost the same side that Holloway took from the bottom to just failing short of a play off. In addition we have signed a few and confidence is high. What possibly could go wrong, this after all is Swindon where something negative is always around the corner.
All eyes on Jake Tabor the non league hot shot signed from Amersham way down the football pyramid. The next Charlie Austin? Only time will tell and a big step up. Billy Bodin (Son of the legendary Paul) has pledged his final season to his local club, all those years when Di Canio pushed him out.

Holloway has done a terrific job in bringing in players that want to be part of the Club and play for him.
The one and only bright spark in a sea of shite.
MK Dons in my opinion will take some stopping however we are more than capable of going one step better and a play off should be minimum. All hope though first around the ownership.

Reading today's online reports & comments the phrase "same old Swindon at end of season" has been used by STFC fan posters along with "flattering to deceive with the recent couple of games results".

IH (if he's staying) will now need to prepare the players & set up for the p offs.

Just seen the Sky highlights and that wasn't a red so I can see why IH ended up with one.

Problem is it’s down to him.
Once again picked a woeful starting 11 and it showed again that we are poor.

Should have changed it at halftime.
Ball is poor, Borland a child in a man’s game. I could go on.

Sounds daft but I don’t want to go up this season with this lot. It would be an embarrassment. That last night was non league standard throughout.
700 fans as well. Once again let down and why Holloway needed yet another red.

I see all that now, I've been blinded by the good things he did for STFC when he first came on board but it now seems his ideas & trials have run their course so now he has nowhere else to turn other than look at himself over what hasn't gone well which inevitably ends up with Friday's game events.

In the game highlights that I saw some things concerned me around how far off the ball players were which as you say looked like a lower standard team or one where the players have not been told how/where/when to press and they've given up on the manager. Yes it's purely down to him and the signs are there for departure.

I totally concur with your concerns over being promoted...even if there were available funds to spend what does he bring in for a higher standard?

I totally agree, still a chance of promotion so within the nature of playing/watching the game STFC have to go for it for the fans if nothing else then cross that bridge if it happens.

That starting line up once again Friday filled most of us with dread.
Without a few key players we are way short. Definitely not promotion material.

I have no idea as to formations, tactics or playing players out of position.
January was disastrous.

Reality mate we are not good enough and have been off it for months.

To be honest, I can't work out some of his selections, I'd thought he picked on a formation/style he could get the best against certain teams, then maybe about available players' week by week fitness then with a style that suckesd teams in so he could play on the counter. but there seems to be no continuity in anything he does which has baffled me.

It seems to be a lottery which then confuses his squad...who knows, he may be playing his jokers card to see if that works.
