Craft Beer

I honestly couldn’t say on looper. What I do know is, it’s very decent for something that’s nearly sessionable. We need to get Hazy Shade of Citra in supermarkets
Imagine the scenes if F Drop went in (this is on the presumption nothing gets messed about with).

You can get Budvar and Spaten at Home Bargains. £5.99 for fowa cans.
It is the type of thing that pops up in those places. And the nice guinness too.
They're both in most big Sainsbury's too. Spaten is the best value 'proper' lager you can buy in the UK, imo.

I've fallen back in love with lager since getting that Fizzics machine. It gives them all a massive creamy foamy head and knocks a lot of the carbonation out. Brings it closer to how lager should be served. Class.
Neither were in the Wynyard Sainsbury's or the Hartlepool one at the weekend, when I got everything else (except the Urqell, which was in Asda)

Supermarket contracts usually mean a drop in quality. Didn't Wylam say they'd never do a supermarket beer? Never seen Verdant or Deya either.

Cloudwater flirted with it,but didn't continue. Of the breweries I like that do supermarket beer i can only think of Pollys and Vault City who've maintained high quality acr9ss a decent range. Brewdog, Tiny Rebel are poor, Northern Monk are very hit and miss. Arbor and Full Circle ones I've had have been ok, but they only do 2 or 3.

That was my concern. Suppose they have to in order to drop the price. Yes re Wylam. Dunno about the other two but I'd be surprised if we did see them. Don't need to either I suppose.

Agree on your wider judgement too. Although I largely swerve supermarkets for craft beer, in the main. As you say, quality often drops off.

But if a deal jumps out I will do a fridge filler jaunt.

I'll try a lot of it, and do return to a few. Supermarket impy stouts are often decent for example. Some stuff I just swerve completely and when I look at them on Untappd I rarely get FOMO.

Asda is now 5 for £10 on the individual cans, looked like all included, Looper, DIPA's, 8% impy stouts
Just went & bought a 8 or 9. Did the 5 for a tenner & topped up on Looper for 3 cans. There were a couple of stouts I hadnt tried that weren’t in the offer, so I got them. Certain ones look like low level shite like, but it’s rude not to give it a go.

Some great little craft and ale places in Kendal
I'm more a lager drinker but the locals seem to be supporting the Tap and ale type places .
I had a nice Snuff Pilsner in a Handsome brewery bar .
Lakes pilsner in the bowness bay brewery Barrel house .
Factory tap yard seems to be independent.
Well impressed .

Good day in Darlo. Orb, absolutely tremendous offerings again. Worjed ny way through a few Track. Good to get back to Craftys, luckily sun was out as the alley way seating area is great. House of Hop had a couple of beautiful DIPAs from Beak and Cloudwater.

I find FD a bit tasteless, but then again I find most keg ales pretty bland, as the coldness spoils the flavour for me.
Whereas I think it packs a load of flavour/juiciness for a relatively low abv. One of the better session IPA IMO.

Edit. Coldness does mask flavour though, but to different degrees. It's why lager is often described as tasteless, and most prefer drinking them ice cold.

I've made no secret of preferring cask over keg.

We are, on this occasion, talking about cans too tbf.

And as I said, its been available on cask as well as keg.

Yes but cans tend to live in fridges.
