30,000+ season tickets sold

If this season so far has taught us anything, its that everybody wants their cake and to eat it.
What I’ve learned from following this thread is that there are a lot of posters that I wouldn’t like to be in the trenches with, indeed I wouldn’t show a lot of them a bird’s nest.
Only interested in themselves and are quite happy to point fingers, tell tales (alleged) want what they want and aren’t bothered who they take down in their wake.

The only kicker there is, doesn't the game have to be a "sell out" to be able to stick it on resale and the club also includ hospitality in that?

There may be a scenario in which many home games are not "sell outs" because there's a handful of ridiculously priced hospitality tickets available, and as a result you can't stick the ticket up for resale?

100%, or if we're having a relegation season (which will come) I presume I'll not be able to sell it on at all.

But what other option do I have as someone who doesn't live in Sunderland, has never lived in sunderland, has no family in Sunderland and has work/ life/ relationships away from the area.

If I was to suggest there should be some kind of membership scheme for people from outside the area ("exiles") to build away points I'd be told that the loyalist people are those with SC and it should always be their priority and therefore such a scheme is ridiculous.

And we already have the on going debates about if passing spares for away games and how bad that is - even though it's the only option for those without season tickets.

So that's where we are.

Like the Spurs game this Sunday?

I bet more than 62k different supporters attended at least a few games in the championship though.

A better product and standard of football is obviously more attractive.

It’s similar to when people love a band until they become commercially successful. It’s a tiny bit superior.
It really isn’t at all. I’ll make this the last thing I say on it as it appears to be getting people’s backs-up but it’s merely my opinion.
I go to watch Sunderland, regardless of opposition. I fully get bairns getting into it and that’s brilliant and I hope they’re there for a generation but, I offered my daughter’s season ticket to people I know for years, for nowt and it was hardly ever taken up.
These people now want or have seasons tickets and, as I say, I don’t get it as I have always just gone to watch Sunderland, regardless of who they are playing or whether its Xhaka or Paul Lemon lining-up. I don’t feel superior in any way, shape or form to anyone.

As I say, it’s merely my opinion and I’ll bow out of the thread.

I do think there needs to be a better system for away tickets. Unless you have BCP you can't get them, but you can't get BCP unless you get away tickets.

BCP should be given out in better ways.
And fuck off everyone who went through the dark times the past 7 years ? Doubt that will sit well certainly doesnt with me

I was going to all away games before we got season tickets. Fun fact, I'm in Sunderland Till I Die.
Unfortunately, the system is fair but the way some people use it is unfair. At least two clubs I know set aside a few tickets for a ballot - I don't know if that's fair! Age means I travel less so my BCP are diminishing and even though I've been going to away games for years I've got very little chance of away tickets. That's life, sadly, as I'd still like to get to five or six away games a year.

This demand won't last forever either. The few who jumped on after the playoffs will soon get sick, some probably already have. Even finishing 8-10th every season will get boring for some, despite it being a great achievement.

You'll be fine longer term imo
But hopefully more waiting to replace them. Like most clubs with season ticket sell outs. Assume why the club will hold back on any extension until they see how demand plays out.
