Just noticed that the Europa League Final (20th May) is before the end of the season (24th May). If Villa win that and secure Champions League football but then finish 6th.. that would mean 7 + 8th get europa league (assuming Chelsea and City win their FA cup semis) and conference league for 9th. By my reckoning this could throw up a highly unlikely but conflicting scenario for us on the final day v Chelsea. Hypothetically lets say if we went into that game in 8th position but with no scope to move up or down (4 points to 9th and 7th) whilst Chelsea and Villa are competing to finish 5th, could that make it advantageous for us to lose to Chelsea as we'd need Villa to finish 6th for the europa place to move down and upgrade us from the conference league position? I know its all highly unlikely but would be interesting to see how we'd play that scenario..

Lets just concentrate on winning games of football and let the powers that be decide what our league position merits when the time comes 😂😂
