That NEOM’s been massively scaled back due to the cost. They’ve literally got 60 skyscrapers standing empty in Riyadh’s financial area alone, because they couldn’t compete with the UAE to entice westerners over to work. That was the whole point of the NEOM project, and even that’s way behind and could potentially cause a financial crisis. The Mags are small potatoes in the grand scheme of things.

It is quite mind boggling how some of them don't realise this. Was talking to a neighbour the other week, I honestly could not believe what I was hearing. Going on about the club being to nice/polite and needing to just do what Chelsea and City appear to do blah, blah. Going on about a 100,000 seater stadium again, WTAF. Zero clue about the bigger geo-political situation whatsoever.

Whole ME has scaled back day rates / packages for Expats. Mega projects, like Qatar Energy LNG, basically filling roles with Indians. Going for cheap and accepting schedule slippages.

This is the point so many choose to miss / decide to ignore.
PIF could have chosen to spend £1 Billion, and have foundations dug for the new Leazes Park stadium. They didn’t because they chose not to.

Their fans will always have a meltdown if they start to drop down the table so it could get interesting if they're downgrading the squad....
But I can't help but think they always land on their feet after a season or so. Even when they've gone down theyve come straight back up.
I don't think they'd cope with going through the worst spell in their history like us. Look.at the protests at Ashley's prem stability years.

As much as I rate Tonali and Gordon as players, I wouldn’t want them at my club as they seem poisonous, personality wise.
