Craft Beer

Think I’ll be on the Guinness tonight. The nearest thing I’ll get to craft is Jamesons. They do have some low level gear on cask most of the time. Unless it has eventually has changed hands.

Anyhow, independent later for a gig. I’ll probably be on the double maxim there.

Ha’way lads. Let’s get this thread gannin again.

Just checked in my 800th unique beer
You only 16 or something? I'm on 4171 unique on untappd 🤣
Anyone on here doing the Hazy Daze crawl in North Tyneside next weekend?

Then it's Brew York birthday bash weekend after.

Pressure Drop's annual release of Understanding Whole Systems at Mosaic next Friday too

I forgot to post photos of the results of that Fizzics machine I bought. Since it's the start of Oktoberfest today here's a silly Czech-style Mliko pour of an Augustiner to showcase its big foam abilities. You can see the bubble size is super tiny which creates this nice wet foam.

From a bit of playing around it is class with lagers, adds creaminess to IPAs/pales, and works well to turn most bottles ales into less carbonated messes. It can't save things like Guinness original which are so overly carbonated though, I tried that last night.

Obviously you don't need to pour everything with such a massive head but it's far more fun to do it with the lagers. :)
Update on this. It's still class and I use it without fail for anything in the house. Strongly recommend. It's class with nitro beers.

Speaking of which, Belhaven Black in Lidl is the best canned nitro stout I've tried. Reminds me a lot of London Black at a quarter of the price. Well worth a go.

Spotted belhaven the other day
I’ll give it a try

Whats your untappd?

I'll be in Mosaic for a couple on Friday ahead of the James gig so will probably try that

I was quite proud of 800 :(

I’m 42, I think.

Prokofiev

Maybe see you there! Think I've only ever met one person from the SMB 😅
I’m a bit hungover, but failed miserably in finding you.

Omnipollo do proper outstanding big stouts, but their price tags are ridiculous these days.
I mean it was fantastic but I concur. I'd expect to pay around 10 to 12 for a top notch impy. Which is what I paid for Vault City strawberry impy stout (15%). Had three drinks in GD, cost me 37 quid

The other places wete more steady away, 5-6 quid a pint.

Think I’ve only been in Green Dragon once & there wasn’t much on tap to write home about. Took a couple of take outs back to the camp site.

Had a couple of Deyas, couple of Brew Yorks and a couple of Belgians, as well as three or four others that were more mainstream. I had two cans from the fridge (two impys) and a Steady Rolling Man, keg.
