Has Roefs got a sell on clause?

If there's serious interest and it's been talked about within the club, I wouldn't be surprised to see Elborg installed as full time number one as soon as we are 'mathematically' safe. Get him bedded in proper for next season.

I thought we'd hang on to Roefs longer than a season but money talks.

I don't think that Ellborg is good enough with the ball at his feet for how we play.

He's just turned 23. Whoever eventually signs him is going to get the best part of a decade out of him, realistically £60m is the cheap end.

I wouldn't begrudge him a move to someone pushing for European honours.
I think he’d be mad to go there they are a basket case when it comes to recruiting. There’s no guarantee he won’t just become another number on a spread sheet. Many of their top players are already showing signs of getting sick of the situation with Enzo being the latest one. He will get a bump in pay and a chance at maybe claiming the number one shirt but if he didn’t hit the ground running he’d just become another kepa. He needs to pick his next move carefully, I’d stay here another season if I were him. He knows he’s gonna be number one, who knows what the season and next season bring we may not be far off Chelsea then he’d have his pick of clubs. Chelsea are a complete basket case and feels like something could happen their those loses ain’t sustainable they are running out of accounting tricks to pull 🤣

Agreed. I'd mentioned Courtois ageing in a post afterwards.
I see no reason why he can't be right at the top, and for a very long time.

From what we’ve seen of him he might have had the best first season a goalkeeper has had here. He has everything to be a real top level keeper along with that weird Dutch calmness that the likes of van da sar had where even if they fuck up it doesn’t seem to phase them. If he has a good World Cup I honestly think he will have his pick of clubs and as much as Chelsea are a big club they ain’t the top top which this lad could eventually play at.

Most will have sell on clauses. Especially the young signings. Its sensible and we will likely do the same

I don't think we should underestimate how much of our early success, which set the tone for the season, was on his saves, distribution and just general belief that he was organising a solid defence.
Not sure what number you can put on that.
Was mentioned in the papers few weeks back that he had a £40 million quid release clause
That would be massively disappointing, but hopefully a 25% sell on clause is also built into that.

4 or so signings and he'll prefer to be here especially after only 1 season IMO.

Only wages be the big pull , I say only .

I’d love to think we could keep him for another season but that’s a lot of bloody dosh, and it’s something we are going to have to accept

We seem to be well sorted with (potential) top keepers; Elborg, Matty Young and isn't there another coming through the Academy that is very highly thought of.
