Cant imagine he’d go for much more realistically, unfortunately goalkeepers never go for silly silly money…although that is of course a lot of money to be reinvested if it happened (he’s probably the most likely, Sadiki another season or so I hope)

If we were offered that there I'd no way the club would turn it down. That's a huge return on our investment and a vindication of buying around age 20 for 10-15m in the hope of making 4 times as much when they move on.

If true that’s a hell of a turnaround.

Last summer we were reportedly trying to sign their reserve goalkeeper, and were priced out at £25M-30M. We then spent £10M on another keeper and sell him a year later to Chelsea for £60m

Yeah think he was about 77 million to Chelsea then Arsenal picked him up for just 5 million this summer.

Hope we keep him for at least another year but some big sides are desperate for a quality keeper

He's just turned 23. Whoever eventually signs him is going to get the best part of a decade out of him, realistically £60m is the cheap end.

I wouldn't begrudge him a move to someone pushing for European honours.

Agreed. I’d hate to see any of these lads go but also it’s likely why they came as has been the case for years, either they outgrow us or we outgrow them. Give them a platform and us the player for as long as we can. They get a better career hopefully and we get a stronger club who can compete long term

The club would probably accept £60m but good luck getting anyone anywhere near as good at that age, for as cheap. The difference between Roefs and Patterson was night and day. The difference between Roefs and Ellborg is night and day.

Easy to underestimate the importance of a top goalkeeper in this league. I dont doubt they have contingencies for every player, but goalkeepers are uniquely exposed. Get it wrong and it is a disaster.
