Heard someone say it’s home grown talent /players we need -not sure how correct that is -especially if we sneak into Europe -all something to do with quotas ?

I think this is probably the summer where we could avoid unwanted sales.
We’re going to clear out a lot of players we don’t seem to want. A bunch will be out of contract or nominal fees, Huggins, Cirkin, Alese, Pembele, Ba, Neil for example.
A few will bring in a few million, Hjelde and Seelt for example, maybe 5m the pair. ( although Seelt could be worth more).
Patto could be 10m if Millwall are promoted, Adingra around 20m, Isidor perhaps 12m? We could be looking at around 50m income before having to consider selling anyone we’d rather keep.

A 25 man premier league squad can have 17 non homegrown players but U21’s don’t have to be registered. We don’t have a lot of space for new foreign signings. I think we currently have 15 over 21 in our senior squad ( not counting anyone out on loan)but one or two of the young lads could tip over to add to that for next season. That said a few will almost certainly leave- Ba, Traore and Isidor for example.
Europe is different, think you have to name 8 homegrown and a certain number also have to be from your own academy so that would be more challenging.

Yeah, I mean in wages alone that’s probably a fair chunk. No one on massive wages out of the first lot you mention but that amount of players adds up.

I’d imagine Isidor and Adingra will be on good wages and Patto signed a new deal not too long ago.

We’ve also shifted Poveda not long ago and he was on decent wages.

I would imagine a lot of homegrown bench fillers in European games. If the likes of Forest can do it with how crazy they went on transfers I don’t see it being too much of an issue.

Confident in the board they will spend what's needed in the areas we need. Left back. Defensive and creative midfielder plus another striker.

Be very hard to replicate last season with only Adringa being a total miss.

Keep the core, sell the fringe. Our right side attack needs addressing.
For me, I’m keeping Roefs. He’s not a finished product just yet. Thing is, I don’t get a vote so que sera, sera.
edit:
I’m not selling 09

A CB as depth needed (especially with some injury records), LB option, CM Xhaka understudy. A RW is priority, another creative/goalscoring link for midfield and a CF. But god knows how much that would cost or if we would try for all of them. Someone will most definitely leave for decent money id imagine too

Roefs would be that alone and if he isn’t I’d want to know why
Yes I’m sure KLD and Florent would be well advised to seek your counsel on the value of outgoing players
Strange that despite the moans and groans of many, re the money we received from sales of Stewart and Clarke, we clearly took the eyes out of the buying clubs
It seems Dortmund paid 20m too much for Jobe.
I hope he goes for me but even if Roefs went for a ‘paltry’ 30m it would still be a 200% profit in under 12 months. Nice work if you can get it
Or just sell the ground to ourselves.
Transfer pricing and transactions between subsidiaries is a business, accounting and taxation practice and philosophy all over the globe
I don’t like it, it’s open to all sorts of malpractice but it is none the less legal and I have no doubt if such a transaction were available to KLD he would go for it
This holier than thou stuff is wearing a bit thin

I don’t look t the amounts in terms of money we spend as I’m just a fan. I just hope we can bring in good value like we have done last summer. There might be a big name exit which I understand and isn’t the end of the world considering we seem to have a good model we are working within. I’m looking forward to seeing what we do. As to what we need would depend on which big player might go as he would need replacing. For positions we have I just think we need more players in of the same standard to nice again consolidate.
